French at jnu, reasonable?

So im aspiring for bms at sscbs, but I don't think I can clear the cutoff this year, I'm thinking of keeping JNU French as a second option (basically take a partial drop). I got 74.8% (including the deprivation points), OBC NCL F

I've studied French for 5yrs in school, so I figured that the first year would be somewhat easier for me

But I'm still unaware of how demanding the curriculum can be

My other option will be enrolling in the part time french course at Hansraj for a year, this will give me a reason to get out of the house while also giving me decent time to focus on CUET prep and other relevant skill building (but the downside is that I really want to get out of the house as soon as possible)

Whats the yearly expense of studying at sscbs?

sscbs students, who live in pgs, whats the approx amount you spend each year on tuition, rent, living expenses, college essentials, etc?
how to minimise the cost?

SSCBS possible?

so i got a raw score of 680/1000, obc ncl
last yr the cutoff for bms, my category was ~58%, my raw score will convert to ~68%, factoring in normalisation, it might drop to ~64%
i was feeling pretty good abt the margin, seems achievable
but i just got to know that i have to renew my ncl certificate before CSAS opens up (which might just be in the next 2-3 days)
the certificate renewal might take as long as 30 days if done purely online, but offline negotiation with the block officer might speed up things
worst case scenario, im not able to renew my certificate in time, and wont get sscbs
should i take a drop then? or just settle for less
