Rejoined the Longines club with a great looking and great value 190th anniversary

Very happy with this!

Found a great second hand deal for a bit less than 1k usd, warranty still active until 2030.

Dial has Naoya Hida vibes and the numerals are engraved with Breguet vibes.

Not a movement finishing person but looks good enough to me and easily serviceable and won’t be costly.

Will be on the look out for good deals secondhand for the small seconds salmon dial of this and the sector dial heritage (and the recent monopusher, hopefully prices go down in the near future for secondhand).

Not a huge fan of a lot of contemporary longines models but some of their options are just amazing on the secondhand market for enthusiasts.

Cheers!

I guess this is better than collecting moonswatches (some better pics later on)

-I was interested in possibly getting into vintage mechanical but just overall would find it a hassle for servicing (I have quite a few third party watch shops I trust but don’t have time to in all the time, etc). This satisfies that itch and also helps me to find off getting a Tank LC or Americaine (long story for another day but I do have Reverso). I do accept that if major issues with the quartz movement, high chance of not getting it fixed (parts may cost more than the watch).
-Best deals were on FB marketplace, one dolce with SGP 30 I got for like 30 USD. Zenmarket/yahoo japan was okay, I originally thought I would get a Credor but couldn’t find any good deals so ended up with various seikos/citizens.
-Was trying to build a “different shape” collection but ended up all looking somewhat similar lol (I have more pieces like a seiko tonneau, etc not shown here).

*One thing I really like is some of these have corporate caseback engravings for [x] years of service for [x] company or like for top sales, etc. Makes me think of what life must have been like during the “bubble” for the Salaryman then (thoughts for another thread).

Stray observations/notes
-Try to go for SGP 30 stamped, the coating should theoretically be better.
-The “Exceed” collection of citizen seems to generally offer better value than their seiko “dolce” equivalents, I guess same as right now with modern citizen vs seiko, though there are more varieties of vintage quartz “shaped” seikos
-I had no idea Orient had a sub-brand called “Chandor”
-Sorry, there is a random bucherer brand watch in there, I didn’t have time to replace it with another one of my Japanese pieces
-UHAG/carbon tungstide is also pretty good to have
-I don’t want to start a huge collection of these but fun to search and collect and not a huge dent in my pocket.

Cheers!
