Poor credit, self-employed, positive rental references and gold income

EDIT: Good* income, not gold -_-

My credit is still poor from losing my job early last year; I got into the swing of self employment in August of the same year here in Louisville, but the opportunities for the city seem pale in comparison to what I feel I'd be able to find in Chicago. All my steady clients currently are remote so I figure it's a good opportunity to move; my income is around ~80k a year, and I'd prefer an apartment nearer to downtown in the 2-2.5k range.

Is anyone able to offer me some referrals for companies or landlords who are willing to accept my higher income in lieu of what seems to be the standard expectation of a 700+ credit score?

Despite what the CDDA contributor guidelines say about multithreading, that didn't stop the Bright Nights developers from implementing it anyway

You can wait near a horde of zombies and not have your game come grinding to a halt. It's quite nice.

40% of the player count of any given ERP server are from bot accounts sitting in the lobby

I don't know what possesses people to create bot accounts for BYOND, but when I last did an actual tally of active player characters compared to the player count in the hub, all the ERP servers had 40-60% of their player count consisting of either observers or bots sitting in the spawn lobby.

When I was a maintainer for WoD13 was when I first discovered that BYOND bot accounts were even a thing -- literally just accounts with bizarre names that do literally nothing but join a server and... That's it.

All the active /tg/ downstreams have auto-kick enabled (tg itself, Monkestation) for people who are afk, and Goonstation has a similar auto-kick mechanic for people who are afk (though the implementation is different afaik).

However, none of the ERP servers have auto-kick for idling enabled -- presumably so they don't automatically kick someone who is in the middle of typing two paragraph emotes with one hand. A more suspicious person might think they are also aware of the bot accounts artificially boosting their player numbers but choose to do nothing about it. It wouldn't surprise me.

Tangential footnote: /tg/ still breaks ~60 players almost every night once all the adults get home from work. I see a few usual suspects waging some bizarre info war where they post in the subreddit like it never breaks 20 players. Probably unrelated. Probably.

$ENV:PROTON = (Resolve-Path '/home/metek/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental')
    function Proton-Invoke {
        if ($args.Count -gt 2) {
            return ."$ENV:Proton/proton" @args
        }
        $command = $args[0]
        $command_arg = $args[1]
        if ([System.IO.Path]::Exists($command_arg)) {
            $command_arg = [System.IO.Path]::GetFullPath($command_arg)
        }
        return ."$ENV:Proton/proton" $command $command_arg
    }
    $ENV:WINEPREFIX = "$PSScriptRoot/pfx"; $ENV:STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH = $PSScriptRoot
    $ENV:STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH = "/home/metek/.steam/steam"
    # Temporary variable to keep interpolation tidy and laconic
    $bin = "/files/bin/"
    $ENV:WINE = "$ENV:Proton" + $bin + "wine"
    $ENV:WINESERVER = "$ENV:WINE" + "server"
    Remove-Variable -Name bin
    $ENV:DOTNET_ROOT = $ENV:PROTON + "/files/lib/wine/x86_64-windows/"
    $DOTNET_ROOT = $ENV:DOTNET_ROOT

This module would be put inside a given folder which would host the pfx/ folder that's created by Proton whenever you run -- in this case -- Proton-Invoke runinprefix wineboot -i.

In this script's case, it's using my user-installed Steam and Proton Experimental. You can modify the script to instead use ProtonGE or any other Proton-descended setup.

I made the module because the way the Steam client handles installing into a given prefix for particular game is clunky and not conducive to games such as Vintage Story or Divinity Original Sin 2, which resolve the correct libraries to use via the DOTNET_ROOT environment variable.

As well, this makes it easier to customize the Wine prefix created from the wineboot command, instead of creating new Wine prefixes for every single game you want to setup Proton for.

This script doesn't interfere with the Steam client's proton functionality -- it's honestly just a wrapper and environment configuration module for the Python script in the Proton root that does all the actual work.
