Help brainstorming an approach to fixing this
I moved into a 30 year old house on 3 acres of woods that backs up to a river. The backyard has an inground pool and then a retention wall. They built the retention wall with 4x4s 🤦 it has been reinforced with cables by the previous owner but I need to get it replaced before it fails.
However, the problem is, quotes to get this done have been absolutely astronomical. The retention wall is about 120 feet long and as high as 10-12 feet in some spots. On the other side of the retention wall is a hill that slopes down to a pond (created for a open loop geothermal system) with an island and a bridge that connects our backyard to the rest of the property. I think the slopes hill would allow a multi-tiered approach where I could have one level that is like for cornhole and games, one that is a garden and one for chairs using geogrid where needed etc but I could use some expert opinions/ input. I don’t mind doing it myself as I am pretty handy… I just have no idea how to go about doing this in this situation.
Thanks for any thoughts!
