My first CGC comic has arrived.

Almost all comic fans have never heard of Seven but it was a one off indie comic that Jim Shooter wrote. I think seven issues were planned but only one saw the light of day. Was damn happy to acquire a copy and even happier to CGC this book.

Just went to my LCS to pick up my book I sent to Cgc though them The Godzilla vs. Megalon #nn promo comic, the first US comic appearance of Godzilla in a CGC 9.2 off-white to white pages. Man, it’s a beauty in person, a real grail for Godzilla fans, the king 👑 of monsters. 👿

Could there be moisture damage to this book?

Recently bought this book and noticed some air pockets inside. Could it have water damage and if i send to cgc is there a possibility of not receieving the same grade?

First time

So Im interested in grading two comics but I need some guidance with what options to pick and how to grade them. They are both signed by sam de la rosa and he did a little doodle in the bottom right of predator #1. I also need help identifying the tribute comic as I’m not sure which option to select in comic lookup. It is a tribute he did for san francisco and it is not foil. Thanks!

What is a pedigree?

Slab storage - temperature considerations vs. flood risk

Hello all,

I'm gradually building a collection of keys (mostly silver-age).  Have about 100 CGC slabs, may grow to around 150-200 total over the next year.  I've been storing them in the extra-large BCW latching cases.  They're not cheap but I really like how they look and they're fairly heavy duty.  In each box, I have a 500g desiccant canister.  With those in each box, I can fit about 26 slabs in each of the cases.

I live in Virginia, so it clearly does get hot and humid here in the summers.  We have single-zone central A/C, set to around 76.  As with any single-zoned house, it clearly gets warmer upstairs.

I'm considering storing the cases in two possible areas of our house.

Option A - Upstairs.  Some of the cases will be in closets, with the door opened for air circulation.

Pro:  No real flood risk.

Con: I've been monitoring the temperature and humidity of the areas (to include the closets).  On a humid day such as today, it's currently 77 degrees with humidity around 55%.  So, seems a bit warm for document storage.

Option B - In our finished basement.  I would put the cases on some raised platform with water sensors around.  We've been in the house for ~15 years and never had any significant water in the basement but .... who knows.

Pro: Definitely cooler.  Currently 69 degrees, with humidity around 58%.  It's a smaller area than the upstairs so even though it's more humid in the basement, I could add more dehumidifiers easier.

Con: Seems scary to have them in an area where it COULD flood.

Option C - It doesn't matter.  I'm overthinking this :).

I guess it mainly comes down to prioritizing cooler temperatures vs. flood risk.  I'm sure many of you have thought this over so would appreciate any input! Thank you!
