Flight Suit Finished! Now I'm Intimidated by Attaching the Armor (Foam, Velcro & Knees)
Now comes the part that's honestly intimidating me: attaching the armor.
I still need to mount the chest plates, shoulders, gauntlets, shins, and especially the knees. From what I've researched, industrial Velcro seems to be the most common method, so that's probably the route I'm leaning toward. I also have some 1 inch knit elastic straps that I was thinking of using for the shins and knees, but I'm not entirely sure how those are normally incorporated into a build.
A few questions:
-Do you glue foam directly to the armor and then attach Velcro to the foam?
-What adhesive do you use for foam, Velcro, and 3D printed armor?
-For shins and knees, do you use Velcro alone, elastic straps alone, or a combination of both?
-How do you attach elastic straps to the armor? Rivets, glue, Chicago screws, snaps?
-Any tips for keeping knee armor from rotating or sagging while walking?
This is my first full Mandalorian build, so before I start gluing things permanently, I'd love to hear how you all mounted your armor and any lessons learned along the way. Photos of your attachment methods would be greatly appreciated
