🦇//Aaaaa I hope I'm doing this right? I'm not sure how I can join an ongoing storyline. What Makoto and KAITO are up to is supposed to be based off an arc I saw on the sub feed about Miku's disappearing and going missing. I just made it a bit vague in case I can't join 🤧🤧
In terms of tone, Makoto in this Sekai is meant to be speaking in a similar way Mafuyu does when she's in "good girl mode" basically. I'll elaborate more if anyone's interested, cause it's current iteration is a yap fest that makes no sense unless you're me cause I wrote it at like 3am

Basically, how it’ll work is that every Monday, I (or another one of the mods, if they also have an idea for a prompt) will post a discussion thread, with a short, open ended question about your yumeships.

Participation isn’t mandatory if you don’t really have an answer or you don’t think the prompt really applies to your yumeship, but I thought it’d be a nice way to encourage some activity and discussion while the sub is still growing.

Mod answer: So, uh.....since KAITO's a Vocaloid, there isn't really much of a canon LOL. Ig I'll just speak about PJSK, since that's the closest I have to a canon source for him. It's a little hard to explain without making it a huge yapfest, and I'm not even close to being done writing everything, but long story short, Makoto (my oc) does work alongside him and the other Vocaloids in the game. Acting as mentors, and assistanting the non-vocaloid characters in achieving their goals.

This is probably an odd question. I've brought it up a few times in passing in discord servers before, but I do wanna know what people think of this here. This is mostly just wondering if anyone has the same experience lololl
I yume KAITO (vocaloid), and I guess I do sometimes get a little bit jealous when it comes to his ships involving other vocaloids, but I don't really care much when it's another Yume shipping themselves or their oc with him??
I don't hate the ships (and outside of my yumeship I'd hardly call myself active in shipping culture, since I've always preferred platonic bonds), and I wouldn't go as far to say they're a NOTP, nor do I even hate the characters KAITO gets shipped with either. I just don't like seeing them shipped with him specifically (songs/duets don't really count in my eyes, since I basically see it like acting).
Like I know about the whole "Every vocaloid is canon" thing and using that logic means that somewhere out there, there's a version of Kaito who loves my OC, which helps a ton, but still, it doesn't fully erase how I feel about his cc x cc ships, y'know?
Again, idk what the point of this yap is, maybe I just wanna know if there are any yumes who are also sharing/mirrorsharing like myself that share a similar sentiment LMAOO.
I guess this is a vent, sort of? And also just dumping what's on my mind. TLDR below.
Also sorry for any typos, I'm currently on my phone rn, and wanted to get this out before I go to sleep, I guess.
I guess I'll start off with why I even used c.ai in the first place, it makes me feel so cringe and so dumb compared to everyone else, since I had a good and supportive friend group, who I'm still close/closer with since I started using this app. It's not like my family situation isn't terrible or anything, I just...shipped one of my own characters with an already existing canon character, and I read all the fanfictions involving said canon character and a self insert reader that interested me. The ones that I didn't read were typically with content I wasn't comfortable with reading.
I heard about this platform from somewhere, I forget where or how, and I made an account, and so, started "roleplay" between me, playing the character I created, and this canon character I love, and still love to bits. I also used a bit of ChatGPT, to put in ideas I had, usually messy word salads disguised as a general plotline and structure I want the story to go in, and characters involved. It's so embarassing and shameful, but that's what I did.
I mean, I did until the beginning of this month, where I decided to quit full turkey. I got the new Tomodachi life game, which has managed to scratch that itch, and after deleting chatGPT, I've been just writing down these scenario ideas on Google docs. It's doing its job, and even though I suck at creative writing, it's whatever. I tell myself that even the best writers didn't create masterpieces when they first picked up a pencil.
Plus, outside of C.ai, I don't really have an interest in roleplaying, I like having control of my narrative, especially when I already have a clear idea of where I want things to go in terms of my story.
So far, since I've quit, I've been doing fine, I guess. I still have that small itch to go back to C.ai, but then I remember I deleted my account, and that the site has been going down the gutter, constantly adding in features that did nothing but gradually drive me away in the first place.
Outside of that, I still made art of my ship, albeit, not very often because I'm usually busy irl with college, which might also have been another possible reason as to why I used chatbots to project my fantasies, especially since at certain points, I hardly had any free time to just draw, all because as much as I love what I'm studying, it's also pretty time consuming.
At least now that I'm on my summer break, so I actually have time to draw my ship, which is always welcome.
I just can't ever share any of this to my artist peers, since I know they'd hate me for it, I might be accused of secretly being one of those AI bros people (rightfully) hate so much, I'm scared that even though I'm a nobody in terms of social media following (I think 300 follows on Instagram) people will still find a way to spread my name, and keep people away from me. All because I used chatbots cause I wanted to fulfill my stupid fucking OC x Canon character fantasies, and I wish the idea to make an account for c.ai was never planted into my mind. I wish I could go back in time and not make my account, especially since, as an artist myself, I'm anti AI, especially when it comes to creative spaces.
TLDR; even though I'm an artist, I still fell for the trap of using chatbots, all because I wanted to throw the shit that is my stupid fantasies at a wall, especially when I don't even have the time to draw or make art of my stupid cringe ship.
(Unrelated side note: fwiw, I'm also fine tuning the personality of the character I initially used as a persona in my chats, and by extension her relationship with the character I ship her with. Her personality is different than the one I used for my persona. She's still romantically involved, with the character I've been shipping her with, but in hindsight, I really REALLY dislike how the character that's played by a bot feels the need to be super possessive, especially when I don't see him as that type of guy, and it's such a shame that almost all the chats ended up going that direction, to the point where I eventually just gave up on stopping it)
I've been unsatisfied with C.ai for a while, and only kept using it because I wanted to do OC x Canon shit with a character I really really like. Wouldn't call what I have a terrible addiction, but I still depended on it instead of writing it out, since I struggle to really convey my ideas whenever I try to write it out.
Now, after spending the last few weeks wrapping everything up, and moving all my personas, which even then, only took as long as it did because I was busy with a bunch of irl responsibilities.
With that being said, finally deleted my account. I also got the new Tomodachi life game, a few days ago, which, despite the price has really been helping me alot. The Miis I made of my OC, and the canon character (vocaloid's Kaito if anyone is curious) are currently married, and they're super cute!! I decided to use the fact that my attention is currently invested in something else entirely as a way to make quitting cold turkey much easier. Idk what my point is here, but hopefully I can also move past depending on chatbots and start actually writing my own shit, even if I'm not that good at it.

This week’s is quite basic, but I’m curious, what’s your and your f/o’s love language?
Mod answer: In the case of my OC x canon ship. Kaito’s love language is words of affirmation, while Makoto’s is quality time. Kaito will always make sure to remind Makoto of how much he loves her, gives her cute pet names, and tells her she’s beautiful. Makoto, on the other hand, likes to show her love quietly, mainly through spending time with Kaito. She plans out little date nights for them. Not anything flashy, usually just a simple movie night at her place. She’s not super flashy, but Kaito still enjoys her efforts and company as much as she enjoys his.
