strange symptoms while supplementing iron ?

i've been taking 42mg of bisglycinate with vit c, b12 and folate every second day for the past two weeks.

a week ago my temperature began increasing up to 37.2c (99f, it was always lower than that), i feel feverish from time to time, sometimes very hot, sometimes cold, overstimulated, kind of weak, i get periods where my limbs feel very restless and i feel like my base hr is a bit higher now. today i felt as if i took some stimulating drug and paced a lot, then crashed in the afternoon and had to take a nap. i've also had trouble falling asleep recently (ive already had early morning awakenings for the past several months, so this is rough).

did anybody else experience something like this?? nothing else fits timeline-wise than my iron + b12 + folate supplement. my nervous system was sensitive before, so this might be worsening my symptoms.

did anyone get low grade fever around the time they started supplementing iron?

hi everyone,

i've been taking 42mg of iron bisglycinate with 180mg of vitamin c every other day for the last two weeks.

around a week ago i noticed that my base body temperature went from 36.6c (97.88f) to 36.9c (98.42f) and then a few days ago to 37.2c (98.96f). not a huge jump by any means, but i also started having moments where im shivering and having goosebumps (in a heatwave) and most of the day i feel as if my body turned into a furnace - my skin feels unbelievably hot. from time to time i feel as if i genuinely have a fever, but I'm genuinely not sick. yesterday before bed i noticed my temperature dropped to 36.6c, so it's not constant, but it's worrying me as I don't understand what's happening or what might be causing it. before starting iron i either felt a bit cold by default, or hot because of adrenaline jumps.

im also supplementing a bit of potassium, folate, b12 and d3 as ive had digestive issues the past few months and from i read all of these either support iron or need iron to be used by the body. so it might also be a result of these going up.

what do you think? and what are you guys' experiences with fever-ishness and iron intake? is this an expected side effect?

How to heal from 2-month absolute gut irritation?

Hi guys,

Long story short: got diarrhea from a beta blocker, irritated my guts further with normal sports electrolyte tabs to stop electrolyte loss, went off a beta blocker a month ago (I don't think I should've been on it from the start), finally stopped electrolyte tabs 11 days ago, switched to drug store electrolytes, started a very bland diet 7 days ago.

What else can I do to heal from this and how long can recovery take? I still got mushy diarrhea that went from dark green to slightly light brown/sometimes brown/sometimes a bit of more watery yellowy diarrhea after dumping electrolyte tabs. I'm taking saccharomyces bouldardii every 2 days (afraid of constipating myself) and sodium butyrate. Blood tests in January were fine, so I don't think it's something like gallbladder issues.

It's the first time I ever dealt with damage like this from diarrhea, so I'll appreciate any tips 🥺🙏

How to heal from absolute gut irritation?

Hi guys,

Long story long: 2 months ago went on a beta blocker for dysautonomia (intermittent adrenaline flares), but I felt awful on it and it caused me diarrhea (known side effect) so I went off. It both slowed my digestion (couldn't eat as much and as often) and somehow caused diarrhea. Since I was having that every day, I started taking normal electrolyte tabs, which now I know had irritated my guts further. I finally stopped them 11 days ago and started drinking drug store anti-dehydration packets that are gentle on the stomach.

However, until I changed my diet 7 days ago, my bowel movements were this dark greenish slop. Now, after switching my diet (eating only stuff like bananas, overboiled rice, carrots), what comes out is a brown mush, either a normal color or a bit light (but not pale). Because of my dysautonomia I'm also physically anxious a lot, so I wonder if that is speeding the transit.

I should be happy to see this change right after changing my diet, but after 7 days I'm starting to worry why I'm not seeing change in consistency. I'm 25. I had blood tests in January and they were fine. I'm taking saccharomyces boulardi day on day off and sodium butyrate everyday. Should I add probiotics, low dose of psyllium husk, or something else, or is it too soon? I'm very worried because I never had diarrhea last this long. (Well, my previous record was one month from stress in September that went away on its own)

I'll appreciate any reply.

For those who had bad experience on beta blockers - how was it and how long did it take for you to recover?

Hi,

I've been on bisoprolol 1.25mg for a month for episodes of adrenaline flares and tachycardia. Had to quit as it was worsening my adrenaline flares, which I realised might have to do with poor circulation and hypovolemia.

However, even though I'm 20 days off, I'm still very sensitive to adrenaline and cortisol, and feel like my body is unstable. I get tachycardia from triggers that didn't affect me much before. It's embarrassing to say, but bisoprolol also gave me digestive issues that persist. I even got an adrenaline dump from an episode of watery diarrhea and thought I'd have to call an ambulance before it subsided.

So that's my current experience. To those who managed to recover from such symptoms - how long did it take? And what exactly did you experience?

Hello,

My main issues are adrenaline dumps and flares with high heart rate and weirdly lower BP.

Since starting bisoprolol (1.25mg) a month ago, I've been feeling as if now more adrenaline is coursing through my body. Before the beta blocker I had flares, rarely adrenaline dumps, but also pretty normal periods. Now, I feel like there are no normal periods anymore, it takes much less to trigger me (stupidly little now) and have my body go into adrenergic flare. My heart rate is a bit lower during adrenergic dumps on beta blocker, but my resting heart rate is stuck in the levels I had during low-level flares before.

Bisoprolol also didn't change my BP, yet I feel weaker. I caught myself several times having more energy right around the time when I had to take my next dose. I also have cold feet and constant diarrhea. Sometimes it's difficult to breathe some time after eating. Getting my body used to bisoprolol was also very rough. Since starting it, I only went outside once for a very short time, and I'm spending half of the time in bed.

I'll appreciate any reply. Has anyone else had an experience similar to this? What helped you guys when beta blockers didn't work?
