Trump's 'Unprecedented' Volume of Stock Trades

“We all support a ban on members of Congress trading individual stocks in order to avoid conflicts of interest—or even the appearance of conflicts,” the lawmakers wrote to Trump. “Your stock trading in 2025—reportedly more than 14,000 stock trades worth up to $1.06 billion—was more than all 535 members of Congress last year combined. Moreover, the value of virtually every one of the stocks you traded can be directly affected by your official actions and public statements.”

U.S. forced to completely withdraw from Iraq

Since the illegal war’s first days, US bases have suffered extensive damage from Iranian retaliation. The losses include 18 US military deaths, dozens killed in host nations, and billions in infrastructure costs. This damage and the limited military utility of US installations are forcing a much-needed reconsideration of the US military presence in the Middle East. A growing consensus finds that dramatic changes are needed.

The result will almost certainly be the end of the nearly half-century-long era when scores of US bases have occupied the Middle East. The sooner US leaders accept this reality and start moving the military out of the region, the safer our nation, our troops, and our world will be.

U.S. military is literally out of ideas

The request from a senior officer at the US military command carrying out President Donald Trump’s war with Iran came in an email: We need ideas.

“We are looking for new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran,” an officer in US Central Command’s intelligence branch wrote in a message sent Wednesday to a broad group of military analysts, according to a source familiar with the message. A second source also said that a senior US military officer sent the message last week soliciting new ideas for how to deal with Iran.

The crowdsourcing-style query, which military officials said was unusual over email, is one sign of the limited — and potentially unpalatable —options available to Trump to force Iran into a deal on his terms. Hoping to find an alternative, the official at CENTCOM kicked off the brainstorming session via email to see if anyone had a better idea.

Corporations Can Vote in Some Elections, Judge Says

Corporations now have more rights than you.

In Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad (1886) corporations got "personhood". In Citizens United v. FEC (2010) corporations got 1st Amendment rights. Now they can vote, without an I.D. of course.

I read that the DNC has refused to release a report on the disastrous 2024 election.

That got me thinking. So I googled the 2016 election and discovered the exact same thing.

It gets a bit more complicated in 2014 when they did release an election autopsy, but it ignored everything important for why they lost.

>"It is clear that Americans overwhelmingly support the people and issues that the Democratic Party fights for every day," the report asserts. In other words, Democratic ideas are better, but somehow more people voted for Republicans.
