Age 42 blood test results, high LDL CAC score 0.... not on statins but I have a prescription ready to go...

One doctor wanted me to go on statins last year I didn't, I thought I'd give a diet a go but didn't do much change stopped eating butter and a lot of eggs, still eat red meat and cheese milk and occasional junk cereal biscuits etc....

Since my diet is still bad but my CAC score is 0 new doctor is not that stressed he recommended me to start the portfolio diet considering my diet is still bad, and re-test is 6 months but he also gave me a prescription for 5mg Crestor I can start whenever I want if I want to he said he will leave that choice to me for now...

I also started taking a citrus bergamot supplement last year, but have not been consistent with it , don't drink or smoke and could use to lose some weight I'm 1.80cm and 90kg so should lose about 10kg....

Also had a neck arteries ultrasound scan and that came back normal.

Any advice please....

I bough a pair of Hawthorne Muleskinners because they were on sale not that keen on the brushed look and the light colour , what should I use to darken them and protect. Wax or leather conditioner ? Any specific products recommended?

Gymnastic rings, Rogue competition ring straps vs Hammock Tree Straps and carabiners

I was going to buy the Rogue Comp Ring Straps but then I had a look and hammock straps + decent carabiners are more or less the same thing?

I could get the numbered ring straps but I do not trust those buckles they have on them as I had exactly on of those break on a TRX luckily it was on grass and not on concrete and it was a PT client using the TRX at the time.

Ever since then I trust noting but climbing rated buckles and carabiners when it comes to suspension training and Rings.

I don't mind paying for the rogue straps but they look pretty much identical to hammock straps. Anyone use the hammock straps or the rogue comp straps?

400m in 12 minutes test in a month,

So I have to complete a 400m swim in under 12 minutes in about a month, I can swim but never took any lessons I swim with my head above the water constantly and it's hard work, but also if I try to swim with the head in the water and breathe every 3 strokes it just kills me in like 50m I just cannot get the breathing right.........

I've been watching the immersion swimming vids and they help a bit, almost managed to do 100m non stop breathing every 3rd stroke on one side only

I live in a remote area and have no access to a swimming pool or coaches , only the ocean............

Do I have a chance to learn the proper freestyle swimming or my best bet is to just train as much as I can and muscle through it ?

There's also other tests like diving an picking stuff from under water etc I can do all those as In a previous life I spend some time in a military unit and we used to do loads of water obstacle courses etc swimming crossing rivers etc... and I was able to get by with the ''ghetto'' freestyle....but 400m is a bit of a distance to muscle through.....
