Buying my first Gretsch and i have some questions

I just ordered a Streamliner G2420T in Fairlaine Blue.

i am starting with an entry level because i have always played solid bodies and i want to make sure i like a hollowbody as well as i would like something to tinker with and not be worried about damaging a $2-3k guitar.

i would like your opinions on this model.

-Is it good or should i have purchased a better model?

-what are common problems i should expect when receiving it?

-What upgrades would you recommend? pickups, bridge, bigsby, tuning machines???

thanks in advance and i am open to all opinions .. good or bad.

is this a genuine Gibson

i apologize for being one of the guys that creates this post, but im not too familiar with Gibson Guitars.

Back story, my father, who i do not speak to maybe once every decade, sent this to me a couple years back after i had emergency surgery and died for 3-4 minutes when on the table.

i do not think this is genuine for a few reasons,

there is no manufacturers label inside the body. the headstock is not consistent with regular CS-336s. pickups are really hot. the knobs are different. and i have not been able to find another 336 with this white/cream finish (yet the guitars has that crayon smell, so it could be nitro)

i have gotten a couple different stories over the years of how he acquired it. first he told me he won it in a charity raffle. next he said he bought it on ebay (which us more believable.

any insight on this guitar is appreciated.

i have thought about bringing it somewhere to get it authenticated, but because i am pretty sure its a fake, i would be embarrased to present it to a shop.

thanks to everyone who helps.
