Getting ambushed every covert action
I'm getting ambushed pretty much every covert action. The percentage chance is always fairly low, like less than 25%, but it doesn't seem to matter, I'm still getting ambushed. WTF is going on?

I will admit it, I have 50+ mods in addition to LWOTC just for customisation.
I've probably spent more hours customising my soldiers' appearances than playing the actual dam game.
Problem is, that means the 'unequip barracks' button is an absolute pain for me to click. When I go back to the same soldier and re-equip them with their armor I have to do the customisation all over again.
Well shit.
I typed all of that out, was about to post it but then thought "hang on, maybe I should check if pressing 'unequip barracks' actually DOES ruin your soldier's customisation".
Turns out, it didn't. Each customization set is tied to the armor you've equipped. I'm not sure if a mod does this or if it is default xcom2 behaviour (I'm 90% sure it's not because I remember obsessing over it back when I last played the game 8 years ago) but this current version of LWotC the behaviour is this way. So I'm hijacking my own thread to give anyone else who is a soldier doll player like me a PSA: that button is safe to press.
I've completely fucked my campaign. I mean that in an 'honor' sense. I've added thousands of supplies to myself just so I can make extra spider suits for people so I didn't have to press that damned button and ruin the hours I spent making everyone look pretty/pretty cool. I've wasted hours going through each soldier, unequipping their rifle, unassigning them to the mission and giving the mag rifle to the person I'm actually sending.
Note: I don't have 'unrestricted customisation' on because that mod can accidentally give you nightmare fuel.
So yeah, if you're obsessed over customisation like me you can indeed press that button without crying and play LWotC the way it was meant to be played.
I'm an Asian guy who wants to score with one of those pilates alo-wearing run club white girls. How do I do it? Do I need to be buff? Will being a 'local' (I'm not Balinese sadly) give me an advantage? Or is it better that I go to Siargao?
