NAT

Ive been getting moderate NAT on my Xbox ever since joining Youfibre, I was told this was due to CGNAT and to purchase a static IP address for £5 and this would solve the issue

Ive added the static IP to my package today, ive checked and its activated and working fine but im still getting moderate NAT on my Xbox, I get 'NAT type moderate UPnP not successful'

I use Flint 2 router and have made sure UpnP is activated. Does anybody have any idea what is stopping the NAT from going to open now please? Everything ive read suggests the static IP should have fixed this issue

VR video streaming issue

I’m experiencing constant stuttering / buffering whilst playing VR video’s on DeoVR after upgrading my broadband to a different provider, I’ve tried everything I can possibly think of to resolve the issue and nothing at all is working, I’m really hoping somebody a bit more tech savvy than myself might be able to help and suggest something I may of missed that’s causing the issue

Bit of a long post sorry but just want to provide as much information as possible.

For reference I was with TalkTalk prior to this swap for over 8 years, I only had a part fibre connection running at 70mb and I never once in all that time had one single issue, I was also just using the ISP supplied router

2.5 months ago I upgraded to Youfibre full fibre 1000 and in the whole time I have constant stuttering and buffering, VR video will just not play, everything else in the house works fine its just VR video. I’ve bullet pointed what I’m using and what I’ve tried below…

* Quest 3 Standalone, fully updated

* DeoVR player, fully updated

* Purchased a new router as I was told the ISP supplied one was rubbish, I went for a Flint 2

* Connected direct to the 5Ghz WIFI, no other people using anything in the household at the same time

* Set the Flint 2 firmware to 4.8.3 as I heard 4.8.4 lowered the WIFI strength, I’ve also changed the country code from DE and tried UK and USA as I heard the default DE also reduces WIFI strength

* I’ve disabled IPV6 as I’ve heard this can be a bug with Quest 3 so it’s now using IPV4

* I’ve moved WIFI channel and manual selected a channel number on band 3 although I used an analyser app and could already see there was no interference from neighbours but tried this anyway

* I’ve tried moving right next to the router, even though with my old slower connection I used to be in the next room and had zero problems, even right by the router I still get exactly the same issue

* I’ve disabled battery saver on Quest 3 as also heard this can cause issues

* I’ve run constant wired and WIFI speed tests and they all come back very strong, a wired test gives results of 1050mb to 1150mb, WIFI tested on the Ookla app shows constant speeds of 915mb and ping is always between 9 and 11

I have no idea why the video’s will not play, it looks like I have above and beyond what’s required but videos refuse to play properly, as mentioned above I had a much slower connection and a very old basic router before and everything always worked flawlessly

Any help would be most appreciated!

New Flint 2 Router WI-FI problems

Im really hoping somebody can help me please...

I have zero networking experience so im sorry if some of this seems basic or im missing something really simple!

I have just purchased a Flint 2 router as I wasnt happy with my IPS provided one (BRS home hub) I signed up to their 1000 package about 5 weeks ago, a wired connection shows my download speeds of about 1000 - 1100 and over WI-FI about 650 - 915 depending on what room im in but i was still suffering buffering for some reason, I Googled a few things such as changing the DNS settings and disabling band steering etc but I still had buffering so after doing some research the Flit 2 looked like a good choice so I purchasde one and Im just trying to set it up now but im having major issues with WI-FI

Ive just set up the router and changed the country to UK as it was set to DE and ive heard this can cause an issue with slow WI-FI, ive updated the firmware to the last but one version (4.8.3) as I heard the new update can also slow down WI-FI, Ive set the DNS settings to Googles and run some tests, wired it runs absolutely fine at about 1050 - 1200 but WI-FI is stupidly slow, its running at about 90 - 100 sat right next to the router (tested on two different devices) does anybody know what could possibly be causing this please?

Im really hoping this is something simple that just needs changing in the admin pannel as I also initially had issues when I connected my Xbox and it was showing as NAT moderate and a few other errors but ive managed to sort these following a few guides online but I honestly dont have any idea what is causing the WI-FI to be so slow, as far as I can see it should be fine but as mentioned above I really dont have any experience in networking so im hoping it something pretty obvious to more knowledgeable people and just needs a setting changed or something

Sorry for the long post but just trying to provide as much info as possible so hopefully somebody can help me. Thank you!
