How to convince seniors that house rabbits are a different species than wild rabbits

My granny gets SO UPSET every time I mention my bunny or the rabbit rescue I got her from. She keeps saying “why do they trap the rabbits” and “you should release her back into the wild”. Since she’s about a billion years old and can’t even turn a doorknob without help I’m not worried about her letting my rabbit out or anything, I just want to get it through her head that there’s nothing wrong, because it’s clearly distressing to her to think about them.

I gave the example of my cousin’s dog and how different she is than a wild coyote. She agreed that the dog wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild but she just isn’t able to make that next mental jump when I tell her domestic rabbits and wild jackrabbits/hares/cottontails etc are like dogs and coyotes/wolves.

Paranormal Activity appreciation

TL;DR you’ve heard of Maybe Happy Ending, now introducing Probably Unhappy Ending For Your Blood Pressure

In honor of the Broadway cast being announced I’ll give my review of the tour! I am a huge scaredy cat but given how good the reviews for this show were I decided I had to go. The touring productions that come to San Francisco usually don’t have the best set quality since they stay a few weeks max, so wasn’t expecting much. Imagine my surprise seeing a fully fleshed out 2 story dollhouse home. I’ve never seen as many Gen Z in the audience before which surprised me too, and it’s the only sold out show I’ve ever seen in SF.

The plot itself was pitched as “horror”but I’d call it more mystery thriller. To be clear I was stressed as hell but it was an exciting tension, never fear. There was never any blood or visible injuries, and there aren’t any physical fights on stage. And seeing it live with thousands of other people, knowing the people I’m seeing are real and just actors, was grounding in a way that made the jumpscares hit more in my body than my mind.

The practical effects were also incredible, with objects moving around and things disappearing into thin air. The head of illusions also worked for cursed child and this was equally magical. The dollhouse style set meant that you can see everything at once, and at times even see something happening in another room before the characters do. I appreciated that most of the time the tension was built up slowly since it made the reveal more dramatic.

My only critique personally was that the sound mixing from my side mezzanine seat was absolute garbage. The sound effects like sirens were so loud I had to put in earplugs, but with the earplugs I couldn’t hear the actors. I also noticed that from certain places in the balcony you couldn’t see the kitchen clearly so they put up TVs on the sides of the balcony and played a live feed during key scenes. Hopefully they can work out kinks like these for the broadway run. I also hope they keep good snacks because I would not have survived act 2 without stress eating an ice cream sandwich at intermission.

I’ve seen dozens of shows and this by far is my favorite ever, touring or otherwise. Hope you all check it out because it really is that good.
