Solar, powerwalls and free nights utility plan. Powerwalls not charging to 100% every night.

I am 2 weeks in to a new install with 2 powerwalls, solar that covers 70% of my annual consumption and a free nights utility plan from 9pm to 6am. The powerwalls only charge to 60 to 90% overnight based on the next day's solar forecast. I have my utility plan set up correctly with 0 cost from 9pm to 6am. I want the powerwalls to always charge to 100% during the free nights time so I have max storage for power outages (i live in houston and they are surprisingly frequent for a first world country). I have not been able to find a setting to do that so I have to run stormwatch every night in the app to get it to charge to 100%. A google search says that there is no setting and that I have to do that manually or set up a home automation. I have home assitant but connecting tesla to it has been very frustrating and i have not been able to do it yet. Please tell me there is something that I am missing and that it is possible to force it to charge every night to 100% in some setting. Because there is no way that a company that is supposedly so smart can be this idiotic.

Installing a kitchenaid electrical 220V 20amp wall oven. Both hot wires and the neutral are all different sizes and dont understand why that would be?

The ground and black hot are 10 AWG, red is 14 AWG and neutral is 12 AWG. I can understand how the neutral and hot may be different. But for the life of me I cant figure out why the two hot legs would be different size wire. I installed a 220v multifunction microwave and saw the same thing. But i thought that may be because it may only use one phase (110v) for the microwave function and both for the airfry/oven/broiler function. I ended up googling it and the google reply was that it always uses 220v and steps it down to 110v internally for the microwave function. So I am really scratching my head why they wir3d the product like that. I ran 12/3 Romex to both with dedicated 20amp breakers for each so it does not effect my install. Im not matching wire sizes from the oven or anything stupid like that. Im just curious why the oven would be wired that way and how is that OK if it is supposed to be powered by a 220v 20 amp circuit.

Who offers free nights plans in the houston (Katy) market

I have solar scheduled for install in 2 weeks. My system includes batteries but is only sized for 70% yearly consumption. So the only way to not pay an electric bill is with a free plan and im having a hard time finding any electric plan comparison website specific to free nights plans. Is there a comparison website that I have not been able to find? If I need to look at all providers who should I be looking at (i found a relient plan that is 12 months but I was really hoping for something longer term because I have anxiety over these plans going away like 1 for 1 buy backs are mostly a thing of the past). Thanks

Home automation for solar advice

I am getting enphase panels with micro inverters and 2 tesla powerwalls installed. I have ecobee smart thermostats in the house and an emporia vue 3 whole home circuit monitor. I will be on a free nights plan after install is complete. I was thinking of setting up some home automation with the following logic:

A. Outside of free nights time:

  1. If outsode temp is higher than 75F, solar production is higher than consumption and powerwall is full, drop thermostat setting a few degrees (basically storing energyby chilling the house rathen than sending unused power to the grid for free).

  2. If consumption is higher than solar production and tesla battery is below 40%, raise thermostat temp a few degree (to prevent pulling energy from the grid in the case of cloudy or bad solar production days).

B. During the last 2 hours of free nights time, lower thermostat a few degree (to maximize the benefit of the free nights plan)

From my google search it seems like Home Assistant is really the only way to go to automate all those different devices. And it says that a hard drive is preferable to an SD card because of the amount of data logging from the solar system. Just wondering if anyone has done something like this and has any advice or recommendations before I try to tackle the project... thanks

▲ 20 r/Camry

I purchased my 2019 SE Camry new. The car came with lifetime oil changes so all service has been at the dealer. Last drain and fill transmission service was at 110k miles. I have 148k mostly highway miles on the car. I have a 100 mile round trip commute to work. I got the car because camry's are supposed to be bullet proof. Loved the car. Especially after putting in an after market Sony head unit that had android auto and apple carplay because I did hate the stock infotainment system. My commute to work is 100miles round trip. Anyway, transmission went out last week. They said I need a new transmission. They said new tramisions are $7k but there are 1600 of them on backorder. They found me a used one with 60k miles on it for $5k and with labor would cost me a smooth 9700. So I am sad and getting rid of the car and getting something a little newer for that 10k and whatever I can get for the car in it's current condition. This is mostly just me sharing my sad story. But I am shocked at how much the transmissions cost (if what I was told is true). And if there is truth to them having so many backorders wouldnt that point to a bigger problem? I was really planning on the car lasting at least another couple years . In the last 6 months I fixed all the door dings and polished it and gave it to my high-school kid for his car to get to school and work. So working on getting a replacement fir what was a really well maintained, nice car...

Just found out that my 2019 Camry SE with 150k miles has a bad transmission. It is 10k to fix. So I am trying to sell it online carbrain, peddle or those kind of places since the car is only worth around 12k with a working transmission. All the VIN lookup tools on these sites show it as an L trim. it is actually an SE. I purchased it new and still have the window sticker in the glove box. How do I fix this because I keep getting low offers that assume it is an L trim when it is actually an SE. I am in the Houston TX area.
