Mrs Wages help blackberry Freezer jam

I'm running into the problem where the blackberry freezer jam just won't set. I had to add pectin twice on the first batch (pour the jam out, add more pectin and put it back in the jar), the second batch I doubled the pectin and it has done absolutely nothing after 24 hours in the fridge, it hasn't even set a little bit.

The only advice I could find was to leave it out at room temperature for 24 hours, but this was AI advice with no source.

Recipe on the package:
4 cups crushed fruit
1 1/4 cup of sugar
1 pouch of pectin
combine dry into the crushed fruit and stir for three minutes.
This batch I did 1 1/2 cups of sugar, two pouches of pectin and stir for 8 minutes.

The Witch is Dead (English Ivy)

My months long battle with english ivy on a red cedar and douglas fir is starting to pay off! One down, one to go. I'm just a pleb using hand tools so I'm pretty proud of this. If anyone has tips on how to get the giant roots off the base of the tree I'm all ears,

How to tell if lab was received on website?

I left a sample at the Kaiser lab today, is there a way to tell if they received it? Last time there was a problem with the sample and they never told me. I don't see anything in test results yet, I left it with them this morning.

Accidental deer repeller

My Solar Sonic mole repeller does not work at all in my garden to repel moles (soil is probably too loose), however, it's miraculously kept the deer out. Every 30 seconds it makes a buzzing noise, and that is enough to keep them from wandering down the side of my house and munching on the back garden.

Probably won't work if your garden is in a high traffic deer area where they use your yard to get from point a to point but it'll keep them out of areas that they would have to make a detour to get to.
