Phoenix or other HOT areas….

We have a 2011 Honda Odyssey, van only gives out COLD air when accelerating, have been dealing with this for years, dealerships etc all say it works fine. Idling is awfully hot. So we are looking to upgrade to a 2019 or 2022 Odyssey Touring. We have now tested 2 & both idle with only semi cool air! I am needing to be able to get cold air while idling (waiting for kids events to end etc etc) or be able to remote start and have it cool at least a bit. Is this just the norm for Odysseys or do the 2 we’ve tested from 2 different dealerships just have some fluke? We rented a Pacifica and that thing got super cold fast. Are my expectations too high??

Remote start from phone?

I’m seeing conflicting things, which years have the capability to start the car from the app? I understand there’s a monthly fee.

Upgrading from 2012?

I have a 2012 EXL, black on black, I live in Phoenix & the AC has been AWFUL anytime it’s over 100° (which is at least 1/2 the year) we’ve given up trying to fix it as well as so many other issues (rear doors not working etc etc). I am looking at finally upgrading to at least a 2018+, ideally a Touring as I want to be able to start the car from my phone to hopefully cool it down a tiny bit, I don’t think we can swing the Elite but I’m curious how the AC is in the newer vans. Does the Honda app remote start really help cool the car down?
