Returning to work?

On SSDI since 21 yo, now 39. Mental illness. Went to work for 3ish years from 2016-2019, used all work credits. Went back on full SSDI.

Been with a DVR rep, went back to school and got my masters degree. Might get a full time job offer soon. What will taking this job for me in terms of losing my disability benefits? If this job doesn’t work out, can I go back to SSDI or am out of luck? I will make well over allotted amount. I understand I will lose all benefits. This is huge decision for me. I’ve worked hard to become self-sufficient and stable, but this is a terrifying possibility. Any advice/opinions would be appreciated.

Adult Services Librarian Interview

I have an interview tomorrow for an adult services librarian position. Just graduated with my MLIS. Have been a library volunteer since 2018, never legally employed. The job will be at the library I have been a volunteer at. Any advice on what questions to prepare for? Thanks so much.

HSV 1 Cold Sores

Hello RNY Fam, I live with HSV 1 and 2. Was diagnosed over 6 years ago. I take 500 mg valacyclovir daily and have had about one oral outbreak a year, if that. Only had one genital outbreak. I also live with hypothyroidism and take .25 mcg levothyroxine daily. I check my TSH levels regularly. Everything has been within range. I currently have an oral outbreak that is taking much longer to heal than normal (10 days). I upped my valacyclovir dose, taking abreva, l-lysine 1000 mg, etc. Question- does anyone deal with cold sores taking much longer to heal than usual and do you equate it with RNY and medication absorption? Have you received any info from your doc that you can share? My primary can’t get me in until the end of June and I’ve played Internet doc all night. I’m concerned. Thanks in advance.

Gastric bypass, hypothyroidism, HSV1&2

I am 39, female. I have hypothyroidism (diagnosed early 20s). Had gastric bypass surgery December 2025. Down 115 lbs since last May 2025. Diagnosed with HSV 1&2 over 6 years ago. Have been exercising more than usual recently so hormones may have freaked out. Have a current oral outbreak that is not healing (been longer than 10 days). Take valacyclovir 500 mg daily since original diagnosis. Have had an oral outbreak a year, if that. Only one genital so far. Recent (3-4 months ago) TSH blood work came back normal. Doubled up on daily valacyclovir dose, using hydroicoilloid (sp?) patches, abreva, lysine pill 1000 mg daily, lysine lip balm. Basically throwing everything I have at this and it’s not healing. Does anyone have experience with any of this? Primary doc can’t get me in until end of June. Any advice or insight would be much appreciated. ✌️

I completed my MLIS in April and applied for a managerial role at a small community college three weeks ago. The position only required an associate’s degree or a library technician certificate. I advanced past the initial interview and was informed today that I wasn't selected for the position. I understand the job market is tough for everyone currently, but I believed my recent degree gave me a strong advantage. I also have over six years of experience in public libraries, mainly in tech services and cataloging. I could use some guidance as I begin applying for other positions. I'd ideally like to go into academic librarianship. Was I overqualified? This position paid $5k more than an MLIS-required position at a public library nearby. This is rude awakening.

I have a first virtual interview this Thursday the 30th. It is an academic library position at a community college. This will be my first virtual interview; my past first interviews have been in person. What type of questions should I be prepared to answer? Any other tips? Thank you and best of luck to all who are job hunting.
