Hi all, I’m currently on FMLA after having a baby in March. I’ve been using PTO to this point, but I’ve qualified for PFML which I’ll start claiming next week when my PTO runs out. I’ll be using medical benefit PFML through the end of September, and then I still have an additional 8 weeks of family benefit time to apply for. I got notice of a layoff while out on leave. My official layoff date is July 1. I know I can’t collect PFML and unemployment benefits simultaneously, but do I need to apply now (within 2 weeks of separation) and just defer payments until my PFML is up, or should I wait to apply until after I’ve used up my PFML?

I might not even end up claiming unemployment depending on how the job search goes, but I would like to be prepared just in case.

Hi all, my dad is purchasing a mobility scooter after years of pain…he’s having a hard time coming to terms with it, and I’d really like to show him some things around the city/greater Seattle area that he wouldn’t have been able to access before. He’s not a big outdoorsy person, but if there’s some sort of cool viewpoint that’s accessible by scooter, he’d like that. We typically stick to West Seattle/points south, but open to any part of the city/region where he’d be able to park and use his scooter easily.

He’s coming for a visit mid-June and we’ll also have a ~3 month old in tow. I’m thinking maybe a museum or park? He’d probably be into the LeMay Museum or even the glass museum, for example.
