OPL Not Seeing Hard Drive

Hi, I've been getting back into PS2 after not playing for a while. I had been using GrimDoomer's fork of OPL to read an exfat hard drive, which I connected to my OEM network adapter that I modded with a SATA connector. When I boot into OPL, I can't get it to detect my games I've confirmed my hard drive is working and it's the right sector size. Is there a way to test the connection of my Sata connector to see if that's the problem? Other than that, anything else I should try?

Was there something wrong with the Insurrection Industries Component Cables

Bit of a technical question. I have the Insurrection Industries component cables. It's been a while since I used them (I also have the Carby which I use more frequently). I remember them working but I think the image was a bit darker? I seem to remember people in the community (I think it was Voultar or someone like that) didn't like those cables. I can't find any info on them but were these considered to be poorly made in any way? Trying to figure out if I should get rid of them. I use the Carby more often but I like having the component cables handy in case I'd want to plug into something like a scaler or a CRT.

Would a Flippydrive have any advantage over my current setup?

Been a while since I got into Gamecube mods but currently my setup is to boot into Swiss with Action Replay and boot games from the SD2SP2. The Flippydrive looks interesting to me because I like the UI better and looks like you can still use Swiss with it. Would there be any advantage like faster load times or would this be a redundant purchase if I can already load games with the SD2SP2?

Also, I haven't found info on this but are you able to update the version of Swiss that comes with the Flippydrive?

What’s a fair price to list my laptop

Following up on a post I made a while ago, I have a 10-11 year old Sager N170SD I’m looking to sell for parts or repair. It has no hard drives in it but last I checked it does power on. I thought the mother board died two years after buying it but since it powers on it may be the GPU or something. It has 16 gb of ram, an Intel i7, and I think an Nvidia 1050 TI.

What would be a reasonable asking price if I put it on Facebook marketplace or something? Since I’m not even sure it would work, I’d make it clear it’s for parts or repair only.

Are these mosquito bites or something else?

Thought it might be bed bugs but I don’t know.

Do people not like the Pet Sounds album cover?

What is this revisionist history I'm hearing? I'm looking up reviews of the new One Step pressing of Pet Sounds (I have it and it sounds great), and a few reviewers think it's necessary to quip about how bad the album cover is.

Wtf is this? It's the Beach Boys Pet Sounds. It's one of the greatest albums of all time. I've been listening to it since middle school and never heard any complaints about the album cover. Do these people look at the Mona Lisa and complain that she isn't smiling?

Is it more trouble than it’s worth to refurbish a 10 year old laptop?

I have a Sager gaming laptop I bought in 2015. After about 2 years the motherboard fried, and I was told it was more money tgan it’s worth to fox or replace the motherboard. I replaced the laptop completely and threw it in a closet somewhere. I dug it out recently and pulled out any hard drives I need so now I want to get rid of it.

I thought the motherboard was completely dead, but I plugged it in and it does power on. Obviously nothing boots because there’s no drive but it’s not as dead as I thought.

Should I just take it to a recycling center, or is it worth it to find someone who wants to refurbish it?

I’m having a record pressed and I want to have a mastering house cut my lacquers and send them to the plant. I’ve had records pressed before so I kinda know the process, but this is my first time having a pro do lacquers instead of the plant.

I’ve reached out to the engineer I have in mind and they’ve said my mix is good to cut, so they’re familiar with me already. I’m mainly just not sure what’s the best way to coordinate between the plant and the engineer. Should I put in the order with the plant first and then have the engineer cut the record, or have him cut it first so it’s ready when I put in the order with the plant?
