Promotion Question

Hi all, I've received a TJO for a GG-13 position, and am coming from a GG-12 step 4. The offer was for GG-13 step 1, but here's the rub. Currently, I am on a TLMS GG scale that the new org is saying does not apply to the new position (I think it should, but that's a different issue). The GG-13 step 1 pay on the normal locality-based scale is substantially less than the GG-12 step 4 pay I currently get on the TLMS scale. Is there some reason the OPM two-step rule would not apply here, or am I somehow misinterpreting that rule? https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/pay-administration/fact-sheets/promotions/

Admiration and a Request/Idea

Hi friends! Wanted to stop by to say how much I love this game and how it's been the single most effective learning tool I've ever used. I also wanted to throw out the idea of adding a game mode that includes waterways and island nations. My knowledge of those is abysmal, and I think this game could quickly improve it.

Thanks for this game!

POTD: Tried my hand at making a cryptic. I'd love to hear the community's thoughts!

As the title implies, I've been doing cryptics for a little while and thought it would be fun to try making one. I cheated a little bit because I started with a filled-in normal crossword puzzle and wrote my own cryptic clues for it. So some of it may feel a little forced. I would love any feedback!

Could you use a 5 lb or 11 lb tank as a backup for a 36"?

I've got a 17 inch I use for camping and a 36 inch at home. Right now, I'm using the disposable 1 lb tanks on the 17 and I have one 20 lb normal tank for the 36. I'd like to get a bigger, refillable tank for the 17, like a 5 lb or 11 lb, and it would be really nice if I could use that same tank on the 36 as a backup in case the 20 lb runs out. It would just be to buy me enough time to finish the cook, then I could go take both to get filled. I'm concerned about the smaller tank freezing on a 36 inch blackstone though. Has anyone tried this or does anyone have thoughts on whether or not this could work?

I've got a number of these GE smart light switches that are powered by CR2032 coin cell batteries. They I'm not 100% sure how they actually communicate with the lights and everything, because they are not themselves connected to wifi and in most of them, the battery lasts a good while. I'm thinking they're only meant to turn on when you press a button. Most of these are command stripped onto the wall or just screwed shallow into the drywall, but this particular one is mounted over a live electrical box where there was a switch that controlled some outlets and I removed that to make the outlets always hot and used this smart switch to cover it. This is the only one in the house that is dying all the time. The battery usually dies in a matter of days on this one while the others last years. Is this just a defective switch or is there something about it being next to live wires that could be causing the battery to drain so fast? If the latter is the case, is there anything I could do to mitigate the issue?

I started using YNAB at the beginning of last year and I had no idea I would be here this quickly. I'm so grateful to this community, this tool, and this mindset for helping me get here today. Only up from here! Happy worthless day!
