Friends, what DO you love about nursing?

I’m someone who is looking into the field. This subreddit has been amazing for allowing people to vent + giving me a reality check about what it’s really like to be a nurse and shitty things that can happen which I’m very grateful for.

That said, I was wondering: what DO you love about nursing? What got you in it and what keeps you still doing what you do?

‼️🚨need help choosing the easiest stats, human physiology and anatomy courses from these lists!

Hellooo, so long story short I need to complete these as prerequisites for the CTF nursing program
0.5 intro to stats course
0.5 anatomy
1.0 human physiology

Check out the slides, look through courses you recognize/heard about that are the easiest to get good grades is as someone who is shit at math! I would forever appreciate it!!!! <3

FYI: first pic stat courses, second anatomy, last physio

Extra points to those who comment the prof that they liked the most

I sometimes faint at the sight of blood, can I become an RN?

Hi everyone,

I graduated in Psych and I’ve been working as a therapist with the disabled community for the past 3 years and have dealt with things like fecal matter, vomit, drooling, etc. None of that really bothers me. I love working with people and have always been interested in the sciences and healthcare.

I’ve been thinking about going back to school for nursing, but the main thing that’s held me back is blood, wounds, needles, and medical procedures. I have a pretty strong vasovagal response and can get dizzy or feel faint around those things.

I’ve read that people can sometimes overcome this with gradual exposure, so I’m wondering: has anyone here become a nurse despite having this issue? Did it get better with experience, or was nursing ultimately not a good fit?
