I’m sorry, first pin event, time getting short, had already dropped 7 bucks buying one pin and was bracing to have to buy another tomorrow to close it out when I got a pin box as a reward in the Adventures and… RLG gods smiled and I got my missing pin.
So surprised and excited, forgot to screenshot. But just so happy.
Simple plan - between codes, free chests and spending 60, I had earned myself two tea tables, Horace and the Mickey and Goofy hat stands. The thing killing me was I felt like I needed help leveling Horace, so I decided to gamble 10 bucks on the GameLoft store, get six chests and hope I got Clarabella’s Ice Cream (which was likely) and Ludwig’s Lab (a long shot given it was an epic).
Chest 1 was Clarabelle’s Ice Cream, so already felt I had my money’s worth right there.
Chest 2 was Ludwig Von Drake. One hand, new character, so this is good! On the other, darn, missed a shot at the Lab.
Chest 3 was Goofy’s Hat Stand. Not complaining, helping boost Tomorrowland so all good.
Chest 4 was Mickey’s Hat Emporium. Again, another boost to Tomorrowland. Still good.
Chest 5 was Clarabelle. Wait, WHAT?!? Another character AND it’s a Legendary?!? I don’t care if it’s a pain to level, it’s an achievement!
Chest 6 was Horace’s Band Uniform. TWO Legendarys. In a ROW.
So in a way, the hunt continues. Clara is still out there as is the Lab. But this is still such monstrously good luck… it’s been a good day.
Took advantage of the code plus the 3 dollar offer plus reaching the Mickey and Friends 2 chest in the Kingdom track to try and work some loot god magic.
The results? Minnie’s Table, Horace and Goofy Hat Stand for M&F, Kermit for the Muppets chest and Jumba for the Lilo and Stitch chest.
On paper? Not bad! Hat Stand gives Magic, Horace is needed and produces Mickey Balloons to help with my current projects Donald and Dale. On the down side? Horace is completely dead as a levelable character without more chests to get goodies or getting more characters to unlock. Kermit is kind of the same issue without more Muppets chests. But Jumba? The news is better - he can be leveled between himself, Sarge and Woody. So hope springs eternal.
Now to see what chest 4 holds on Thursday and what Gameloft has in mind to maybe assist.
OK, phase two of an effort to maximize achievement for the Cars event. It’s a bit tricky, but here we go - I found a path to get 5 more Cars chests but spend only 13 dollars - the free Cars chest in the Kingdom path, plus 3 in a reward track for Gems plus 1 for 3 dollars along with a BATB chest and A Bug’s Life Chest. Granted, felt like I’d used up most of my luck last week, but the math says 1 in 5 chance of an attraction and MAYBE get lucky and get both.
The results?
From Beauty and the Beast, a hare shrub.
From A Bug’s Life, Anthill Mushrooms.
And the Cars chests?
Mac and Cheese followed by Mac and Cheese… followed by Chick followed by Thunder Hollow followed by Victory Flag.
I’m actually OK with this! Thunder Hollow can help with Flo and Chick can help eat into tokens, so… yay? I’m a bit discouraged Victory Flag wasn’t Mater’s, but given we only had a 4% chance of that, eh.
So now, we grind to the finish line on Thursday. Let’s just see!
OK, I am aware that in order to maximize the amount of Route 66 markers, I need to invest a bit to try and get some Cars stuff. Also have to mind my budget. Fortunately, between the game code yesterday and offers both in game and in Gameloft’s store, I have a strategy to maximize success. Part one this week - combine the code with 10 bucks, open 7 chests and hope for the best. The absolute minimum hoped for is one character, one attraction.
The result? Well… wow! Victory Flag, Mac and Cheese, Flo, Victory Flag Part Deux, Cars Gold Trophy, Mac and Cheese Part Deux and…
Lightning.

Well, yes, I think I can work with this!
Therein lies the question for our event - if we want to drop money for Maddy McGear or not. On the plus side, she will help with earning Route 66 Markers. On the negative side, she needs to get to level 4 and we need the Racetrack AND the Racetrack needs to be leveled at least once to help with Jackson Storm’s hats.
It is also worth mentioning, for those who are eligible, there are better options than just going through the app. If you are willing to up a dollar, you get Maddy plus a pin box and gear to level through the website. Also, there IS a 30 dollar offer for both Maddy and Lightning McQueen. Again, same price, but you get Gems too through the website versus the app.
Using the current event to get two Star Wars boxes and the need to spend 100 Gems equaled in my brain 4 boxes with a potential 5 in the Kingdom rewards.
So… best case scenario is Vader drops and he can help with event support. Worst case is either Lando or the Stormtrooper plus Cloud City drops for event support.
And the Random Loot God nearly split a rib. Box Stand, two Cantina Tables and the Garbage Compactor.
Can’t blame me for trying though.
