Why is it the same flight more expensive to buy through Delta than buying through the Amex Travel portal? I want to use my Delta credit card but $600 difference is a lot.

I have a v7p and a M4A1 RIS II rifles already. For my third rifle, I wanted to go ahead and build the next one. Any recommendations? I was thinking of building an MK18 RIS III or RIS II or a M4A1 RIS III. What do you guys think?
