Quick background: I've always been a 2-seater guy at heart (first car was 240z and then a bunch of Preludes in my youth) but for my career I had to have something with some cargo space for work. Been thru a chain (of continually getting smaller SUVs--Toureg to Audi A3 to a couple Q3s to a Mini Clubman and now a 2023 Countryman All 4S. I own this one and it only has 20K miles on it. It's been a fun car and very reliable. I'm retiring soon and long to get a Cayman to get back in to a 2 seater. I've always wanted a Porsche. My bias for German engineering is obvious. Am I crazy to sell a very very nice R60 with low miles with pretty cheap insurance cost for $30k to buy a Cayman in the $30 to $40K range? Am I going to get blown away by yearly maintenance? What are insurance costs like?? This would be a daily driver by the way that would pair with my wife's electric Volvo. Which year Cayman is the ideal in this price range? Which is the one to avoid? I've read about certain year models with bore scoring issues for example.
