Summer Sonic Megathread locked after kapamilya/bini alt mod exposed of bias

Posting this under discussion since I don't know what happened din.

I'm sure people who frequent this sub knows na hindi welcome ang SB19 contents here. Some nababaduyan, others just view them as 'not chika', etc. Which was fine, I still enjoy this sub pero over the years it was obvious that a lot has changed here sa chika. Just giving you context on why I'm excited when a mod made a Summer Sonic thread since 3 artists from the Philippines will be part of the line-up, and Japan is known for gatekeeping their music fests and concerts.

So earlier on that thread, someone posted a somewhat harsh comment on Bini's crowd on sumson. No idea if that account is part of what fandom, or just simply a troll. Nakalimutan ata ng bloom mod nyo na si u/reitsukikage na mod account ang gamit nya because instead of policing that redditor for violating chikaph rules, she thought it was better to accuse the redditor of belonging to a gc and creating some sort of narrative. I'm one of the people who called her out for revealing her obvious bias, and my comment got locked because apparently I was off topic. Off topic when I just replied to YOUR comment? Like okay ka lang ba te?

Now, instead of ppop and music fans enjoying the fancams that we're waiting to be posted on that thread, naka-lock na dahil lang na-call out ka. Ehdi sana hindi mo na dinamay ibang artists dun sa thread kung ang gusto mo lang pala eh mashowcase yung faves mo.

Oh and by the way, Ena Mori is also on Summer Sonic. One of the first comments on your thread was to notify you that there was another artist there that we should be celebrating because she too was carrying the Filipino flag on an international stage, pero mas pinili mo ma-ragebait sa walang kwentang comment. Some moderator you are.

To the rest of the mods here, I apologize for posting this eh kaso nilock yung thread na nananahimik dahil lang sa katoxican din naman nya. Nugagawen.

GMA News | From Brazil with love: The SB19 fans who traveled 4 days to see their idols live

Read more about their travels around the Philippines and the tourist attractions and A'Tin pilgrimage spots they visited in the full article.

Note: some snippets of the article below

Geographically, the farthest place from the Philippines is at the Philippines' antipodal area —the region directly opposite it on the other side of the Earth—falls mostly in Brazil, with smaller portions in Bolivia and Paraguay.

For these Brazil A'Tin, SB19's music caught their attention, but it was the members' personalities and the group's story that made them stay and become the fans that they are now.

"I think that when we start to get to know the group, we start to look for a little bit of each one, and identify with each one," Barbara said in Portuguese. "I think their story, when you go deep into it, you already fall in love with everything they did, how they got there, and it makes you want to say, I want to go with them."

Barbara is the face of Brazilian A'TIN and runs social media pages dedicated to SB19. She manages a group chat with fellow fans and leads efforts to promote the group in their country. She translates their songs, posts videos on Filipino culture, organizes streaming parties, and finds reactors so more people will find SB19's music.

"SB19, you may already know, but once again we are asking you to come to Brazil. Stell we know that you're Brazilian, so come here to take your Brazilian ID. The WAS concert was amazing and we would love to see you performing again, but this time in our country. And also, we are really proud to witness all of your achievements and just hope you the best for the years to come."

Check out our compilation of international A'Tin from all over the world who came over to the Philippines for SB19.

NEUT Magazine | 話題沸騰中のP-POPボーイグループ「SB19」がみせてくれるのは、まっすぐな生きかたそのもの。| The P-POP boy group "SB19," which is currently creating a huge buzz, shows us a straightforward way of life itself.

Read the full interview and article here! https://neutmagazine.com/interview-sb19

An excerpt from the article:

来日していた5人が、NEUT(ニュート)に初登場!

However, the appeal of P-Pop lies beyond that. While K-Pop boasts a global fandom and leverages its universally appealing music, P-Pop music possesses a stronger local character.

It blends the linguistic sensibilities of Tagalog (the Filipino language), the atmosphere of cities and local areas, costumes, mythology, and other cultural elements to prominently showcase its unique culture. Yet, it continues to expand its global fanbase. If we consider it a success story of music with local cultural elements and messages, it can be said to have a different context than K-Pop, despite being connected to it.

And the prime example of this, and the one that best embodies it, is SB19. However, their stance is simple and clear: "What we, SB19, continue to do is embody 'being ourselves'."

They create the music they want to create. They say what they want to say. They say no to things they disagree with. They define their own role in society. They also have the goal of improving their country. And above all, they enjoy themselves.

It's the very essence of living honestly, no matter how popular or influential you become. The five people who were visiting Japan make their first appearance in NEUT!
