I caught a guinea fart. I think? (volume up)

https://reddit.com/link/1ulual7/video/e8e9ifpznvah1/player

Never heard that before.

Spot on the left here made this sound twice after waking up this morning. I couldn't tell who made that sound at first so I set up the camera and watched them for a solid hour to get this. While waiting I looked it up out of panic and she is fine. Not showing signs of being bloated at all, still eating, drinking, and zooming around just fine. All behaviors are the same. She still thinks she is 10 feet tall and invincible.

Anyone else hear a guinea fart before? Almost sounds like a quack I think, or at least that's how I could describe it lol

How would you describe a guinea fart?

More rejection letters than job offers.

I was getting frustrated today after I woke up at 5AM to start my day and saw I got yet another Employment Rejection letter in my E-mail. I have been steadily applying to jobs all over Las Cruces since I lost my job due to COVID almost 7 years ago. I was a courier/driver, and before that I was a RadioShack store manager for years here in las cruces, it's the reason I moved to this city, but as you know they went bankrupt and hid it from all of us working for them till they couldn't anymore. I even worked my way to manager at a dominos pizza before in another town but quit months after the promotion because they never gave me the agreed upon raise with the position. I gave over a two-thirds of my life, probably well over that by now, to these places thinking each was going to be the job I work the rest of my life at. And I would have been happy doing it. I even worked in commercial construction, plumbing and HVAC before I got into retail. I stopped because I was young and found out I can make the same amount of money (at the time) inside a store with AC rather than breaking my back in the heat.

I have plenty of real world experiences from past jobs. More than most in both retail/customer service and construction. I have been doing gig-work since COVID and it has now become unrealistic to think this will continue to supplement my needed income. I'm lucky to make $30 in 5 hours now. It's horrible with Platform/customer abuse, vehicle maintenance, and fuel costs. And with the heat, that's only making things worse and unsustainable. Hell because I use the AC in my house my electric bill has jumped over the usual $60 to $170. Every summer. My house temp is set to 80 degrees to try and save money. WTF!!!! Its always more every year and they want to increase rates again. Greedy jerks.

I am now 39 years old. I had a heart attack at 38 so my job options/abilities have halved, easily. I am not getting disability because I wouldn't even know how to get any of that started nor have I tried finding out because I always would just put my head down and grind through what I needed to till I make it/get a job I wont mind spending the rest of my life working at. I am not gonna do fast food again for obvious reasons. (especially if you work or have worked in it) and I have discovered after my heart attack and implanted stent my physical cardio is crap and cant keep it up for very long before I have to stop and slow my heart rate back down, so there went my more physical labor options.

However. today is a rant day. And I would like to know how many others have gotten more rejection letters from the places they applied too in Las Cruces than actual job offers?

I am not trying to get people to feel sorry for me and my family. I just want to know who can relate and how bad has it gotten for you?

Does anyone know who is actually hiring for someone with my experiences and accompanied skills? I can do most anything in most working environments and with my supper undiagnosed ADHD powers I can learn and process things incredibly fast so I'm open to new things I haven't worked yet.

Thanks and good luck to you all.

Skipping gold. Straight to silver.

This has bothered me for a long time. In one picture is the order i declined (platinum teir offer). And in the other was the resulting consequence. Acceptance rate down to 69% and am now in silver tier. But at 70% im platinum. It skips gold all together. In my over saturated market this is death. We no longer get orders over $3.00 and nothing less than 5 miles. (Screw hourly in this market its even worse)

This is one of many manipulation tactics doordash uses on us.... Before I even got back up to platinum I was in gold tier. I just needed to get over the 100 deliveries mark. Gold teir sucks too but at least I would get a $5.00 order here and their with relative low miles. Silver tier we are screwed. (Again in an over saturated market)

Does this happen to anyone else? Going from platinum straight to silver?

What do you think should be done or can be done?

I think there needs to be a 65% Acceptance rate for silver not just 70% for both gold and platinum. We shouldn't drop 1% and go from platinum to silver. Thats ridiculous. And as I said before a manipulation tactic to make us accept low pay high mileage orders inorder to pay for doordash logistics.

This needs to change.

What do you think?

just a random thought. How many time is a dollar taxed in America?

just for funsies. our income is taxed before it reaches our hands when we earn it and is then taxed again when it is spent. is that the end of being taxed? or does the store/business taxed on it again later? I imagine the store/business is taxed again at some point or should they use that money to pay utility bills or rent or buy more product to sell that money is certainly taxed again so....How many times is a dollar taxed from the start (being earned/in our hands) to wear ever it ends up after being spent. i want to know wear all those parts of a dollar end up. after every time it is taxed how much of the original dollar has gone to government?
