“Please provide resources for ….”

Sometimes providers will message me with the most specific circumstance requesting “resources.”

“Patient had baby via IVF. Please provide resources.”

“Patient makes $2k a month and will have to find a new lease in November. Please provide resources.”

“Patient does not have anyone to watch cat. Please provide resources.”

Guilt in professional roles

Disclaimer: I was never high while working or performing work duties

I am day 30 today

Everyday I feel like I am becoming more “online.” I’m noticing more little things, I’m more thorough in my work, I have more motivation to get more done. My memory above all is becoming so much better and I feel quicker in my response times, my problem solving skills, my ability to recall crucial information.

Although I was never high at work or while performing work duties, I am recognizing a difference in my personal drive, motivation, and clarity. I didn’t realize how much the nightly smoking myself out was pouring over day to day.

I’m feeling a little bit guilty about the version of me that was showing up previously and how different that feels from the version of me that shows up now.

I’m not mad at it of course, but it’s a noticeable way in which I recognize the denial I was in

Day 16 and my speech is fucked

I don’t feel the residual intoxication, brain fog, grogginess, or desire anymore tbh.

What I am noticing is I trip on my words a LOT. I can’t tell if I was doing this before and didn’t know or if this is a result.

Anyone else?

Embarrassment about the amount of meds it takes to manage this

My med lineup:

Skin - tretinoin, azelaic acid
Scalp - clobetasol, ciclopirox, minoxidil
Hormones - spironolactone & apri birth control
Weight - Wegovy

Everyday I feel like a non human being and taking my meds make me feel even worse. I feel like I have to have a pharmacy in my own home just to present overweight, with acne, and a fucked up scalp from the stress and hair loss. I feel like I’m cosplaying a woman at this point and basically chemically forcing my body to recognize I am one.

I know it’s for the best, but some days it just feels quite exhausting.

Feeling way more productive at work

I always considered myself to be pretty high functioning, and I’d never smoke while at work. Only after my day wrapped up, by nature of my job.

Even so, I feel infinitely more present and clear minded at work. I’m on day 8 today. Starting to look forward to the other positives it’ll bring

having sex sober

Partner and I both quit at the same time. We’ve been daily users for 3+ years. We are long distance while finishing graduate school so there’s a reason why this hasn’t occurred yet, we both quit during our “away” time

Anyway we’ll be with each other for a few weeks soon.

Was intimacy difficult your first few times sober?

By the time we are together, we will both be about 2 wks into it. Currently @ 5 days

How much does it take to talk to a human

I truly, truly can’t stand not being able to reach a human when I call anywhere. Why does it take 10+ minutes of me repeating the same thing to AI before I can talk to a person.

When will somebody include banning this in their campaigns? 😩

I could’ve lost my mind this morning trying to get through to a human at my local pharmacist. And they kept misinterpreting my request and going on these unskippable side quests about how I can “find this information online”

spoiler: i couldn’t
