I noticed something odd with my Scotiabank Amex Gold (Scene+).
When I dine at restaurants in Canada I earn the expected 5x Scene points.
But when I use the same card at the exact same restaurant chains in the United States, I only get 1x.
Is this normal / expected behaviour for this card?
Does the 5x restaurant category only apply to Canadian merchants, or should it also trigger on U.S. locations of the same brands?
Curious if anyone else has seen this or has official confirmation from Scotiabank/Amex.

Just got an email from the Wireless team and I’m honestly pretty pissed. We’re on this pooled plan that only gives us about 5GB of data per person on average. Oracle’s paying over $40 a line for it, with basically zero benefits - no US roaming, no international calling, nothing. 50 GB data is pretty normal these days.
For that price it feels like a total rip-off. I’ve emailed them multiple times asking if they can get us a better plan, but crickets. Procurement needs to actually negotiate with Rogers instead of just rolling over on this weak deal.
Anyone else dealing with this garbage? Have you had any luck pushing for something better, or are we all stuck with it?
