Who here has heard American Liberal-Conservative James Lindsay (of New Discourses)? Thoughts on him, his positions, and his work?

His website: https://newdiscourses.com

An unusual person on the Right: Was a Young Conservative Christian and a Member of the Late Phylis Schlaffy's Eagle Forum, but now describes himself as a "classical liberal" (sometimes). Believes that the West and America have a "Judeo-Christian Value System" that is necessary to protect even if one is atheist! He was the PRIMARY COINER of the anti-Western neologism "woke-right", but he allegedly supports Project 2025 and VERY much approves of Trump's Second Term (at least for now) over its support of Israel and it's opposition to the "Woke Left " , sans those "woke right" elements he also disagrees with . Made interesting claims linking the development of Leftism to harmful elements of the Western Esoteric Cultural Traditions (with strong examples of the same , such as the in the Christian-Leftist Group behind Marx's First Draft of The Communist Manifesto).

Thoughts on President Trump's alleged threat to bomb Oman, a Gulf Arab "ally", that offered to run the Strait of Hormuz with Iran in exchange for an end to Iranian hostility?

News story via The Hill on YouTube

Let me know if the links break, but I'd like to share a video example of the Omani Royal Family's ties with the Bush Family.

Middle Eastern politics is always more complex than meets the eye. Many Arab elites were FURIOUS at Obama and Europe for supporting radical Arab Spring uprisings that threatened their rule in the 2010s, and now are engaged in a weird form of "Arab Nationalism" by which they seek to assert themselves to the world as independent powers that can throw their weight internationally. They have done so through influence over European governments, and Oman was hoping to do something with Iran before this recent "threat", to which they have responded officially.

What exactly happened? Is the media taking this out of proportion, or has something weird happened?

Recurrent swelling/allergy episodes — anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone. I recently had an allergic reaction that started with a small lip swelling on Monday, 25 May, and by around 6 AM on Tuesday, 26 May, I had severe lip swelling along with throat pain. I had to go to the ER where they treated me for possible anaphylaxis. It’s now 29 May, and I’m better overall, but I still have mild swelling around one eye. I’ve been taking Allerga twice a day and cetirizine at night. I should also mention that I’m from India, where epipens aren’t easily available. I used AI to help draft this post because I’m feeling anxious and wanted to explain things clearly.
The thing is — this isn’t the first time I’ve had swelling episodes. Over the past 3 years, I’ve occasionally had mild lip/face swelling maybe once every 6–7 months. I suspect it may have been triggered by certain foods or skin contact, but I’ve never been able to identify a clear cause. I also used to react badly to bedbugs. My blood reports from the hospital were normal.
I wanted to ask:
Has anyone experienced recurrent swelling like this?
Did it turn out to be “just allergies”/angioedema or something else?
Were allergy blood tests (food/pet/dust etc.) actually useful for you?
Any tips for identifying triggers?
I’m planning to follow up with an allergist, but hearing real experiences would really help calm my anxiety right now.
Thank you.

Thoughts on Kentucky's GOP Congressional Primary between Thomas Massie and Ed Gallrein?

Shaping up to be quite a SUPRISINGLY contentious race.

Republican establishment in Kentucky has been angry at Massie for a long time and President Trump endorsed Gallrein, while some muckrackers have alleged that Hegseth [ EDIT: This was a reading from a misleading MSN article] various Dems , various Libertarians , and some Republicans are coming out last minute for Massie.

What are you seeing and what fo you predict regarding tonight's outcome and it's effects on all parties ( pun unintended) involved (voters, nationally, etc)?

What are your thoughts on the various refugee and immigration programs from the Clinton/Bush-era onwards that brought hundreds of thousands into the United States? How is their abolition under Trump going?

George W. Bush was, in many ways, an example of how a "bleeding heart" empathy for others can cross party lines and lead to bad outcomes that aren't immediately apparent. He saw it as his mission to "do good" in the world, even though this enabled bad actors access to the United States. The primary examples of this include the 9/11 attacks, where naivety and access to resources by the hijackers allowed them to kill over 3000 human beings, as well as in the partnerships with foreign religious groups who came to the West as refugees and fought against Saddam only to either turn to organized crime or become anti-American in favor of Iran.

The news story shows a result of this program. This fellow was a refugee (?) from Iraq recently arrested for plotting violence against several synagogue. Despite being welcomed into the States, he plotted to harm Americans.

What are your thoughts?
