Past few days I have been seeing Cedar Waxwings off the Graffiti Bridge at LaBagh Wood.
Sorry I don't have photos. I'm old and didn't take photos, wouldn't know how to post them.
They look like this https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Cedar\_Waxwing/overview. and there were about 8 of them. They are so beautiful and a delight to watch.
There are 2 Wonderful Bird Sanctuaries on Lake Michigan less than a half hour walk apart
Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary at Montrose beach and Jarvis Bird Sanctuary. Montrose is at Montrose and Jarvis is 3550 N DuSable LSD. They are a little over a mile apart. I had such a wonderful time in both and walking from one to another I was there 7am til 11am. More free parking at Montrose especially early.
La Bagh Woods wonderful birding area, had sexual assault this Saturday.
I have been birding almost daily at La Bagh. It's a wonderful place for birds at spring migration. A woman 29 years old was as assaulted Saturday at 12:30pm. I cannot think of a busier time there.
Just want everyone to be aware. It's so horrific.
I thought people might want to know about this good news. With so much evil stuff going on regarding the federal government destroying wildlife habitat it is some good news. Illinois Audubon Society does great work.
I will understand if this thread is taken down because it is Illinois but not Chicagoland.
