Considering rehoming my baby boy...

I've had my hamster for a little over a year and a half and I found myself not being able to care for him as much as he needs. I do my basic + specialty feeding (pellets, seed mix, sprays, special treats) and cleaning routine (spot cleaning everyday, water changes, switching sand every week, major cleans every 4-6 weeks etc.) but I find myself not wanting to do it anymore. I knew before getting him I would need to do all of this. But still sucks feeling the urge to give up. He deserves so much better and I don't think I can do that.

He's such a sweet little guys. Okay with petting and hand feeding. Free roams every now and then but doesn't like to be held (yet?).

Anyone have experience with rehoming? Why did you rehome? Please help.

$25 Doordash gift card to give in exchange for

Hey yall,

I graduate Saturday at 3pm and am looking to see if I can leave my hamster with anyone nearby campus from 1:30 pm - 4:45 pm. Can pay with $25 Doordash gift card.

His enclosure is 36 in × 18 in × 16 in glass aquarium. Hamsters are nocturnal so he will be asleep buried deep in his bedding so he won't be seen or heard (or smelt if thats a concern). It'll look as if I just gave you a glass tank of stuff lol.

I just ask that he be in a room that won't exceed 80 degrees, no other pets can access him, that no one will try to wake him up and that I will have access to pick him up by 4:45 pm - 5:15pm. So if anyone wants to make an easy $25 bucks, let me know.

If anyone has questions or want proof of the gift card or anything, let me know. I can meet on campus tomorrow around 1p - 4p.

Everyone needs a little guidance and support sometimes. Join us tonight. Feel free to join for the full session or just part of it at the BRAIN Studio from 5 - 6pm 😄

How to Find Us!

  1. From the field with the large concrete stairs sculpture (in front of the Communications building), you will see ACADEMIC WEST and ACADEMIC EAST

AE is on the LEFT of this photo. The double doors you see on the far LEFT side of the AE building is the entrance. Details below.

  1. If you are standing in front of the field facing the AW and AE buildings, if you go to the LEFT you will see a bike rack. There is a set of double doors in front of those bikes that will lead you inside.

Closer look at the bike rack to entry door location

  1. Once through the doors into the main building, you will enter the first single glass door to the LEFT (it does say "staff only" but there is an exception for this meeting) and find us there 🎉

Hope to see you all soon.
