I finally got what "erased"/killed Tsukasa (spook 131 spoilers)

Amane and Tsukasa were transported to adult Amane who became possessed in order to convince Tsukasa to go into the pit and ending up killing Tsukasa. Then, Tsukasa wasn't properly killed because he didn't consent so Amane's health deteriorated and he died (which happened when he was a teacher). This is because the failure to get consent for the wish led to a failed sacrifice and the wish being undone. The medicine in chapter 119 supports the theory that Amane's health deteriorated at some point.

Please tell me if there are any holes in my theory or if you have anything to add.

I wish more people cared to theorize about the Clock Keepers

I know why most people don’t, it’s because they’re just side characters, so people are less interested in them and I get that. It’s just that I feel annoyed with a lot of theories because a lot of them show a lack of attention to why the Clock Keepers do anything or how they work, despite being theories about arc that the Clock Keepers are a big part of. It took a while for the fandom to even come around to having people note that the goal was to erase Tsukasa despite Akane being pretty damn confident on that being the change. There’s no attention paid to why the Clock Keepers don’t like humans messing with time or using the big clock, though pretty much everyone knows that they don’t. The reasons are spelled out in chapter 125. Understanding the big clock’s stated connection to the hourglass explains why:
- Amane’s goals and the Clock Keepers’ goals don’t match up (it’s because erasing Tsukasa would be Amane’s ruin).
- Why the Clock Keepers both refuse to let anyone touch the big clock and refuse to let anyone touch the hourglass.
- Why Kako explains the hourglass backstory because of Nene asking him to change the past (which he would do with the big clock).
- The fact that the Clock Keepers and the hourglass both have connections to stealing parts of souls.
- Why Kako speaks of meddling with time being the problem instead of specifying the hourglass.
- Where the hourglass was sealed away to.
- That one page of chapter 125 where Kako discusses the hourglass.
- Why the big clock in the Clock Keepers’ boundary literally has the sandy memories of the users of the hourglass inside of it.
- Why the big clock isn’t mentioned in the Clock Keepers’ backstory, despite the mystery revolving around it (it’s because the hourglass rests inside the big clock).
- Why the thing that must be valued above all else in reference to the hourglass applies to Kako’s choices with not changing the past (which he would do with the big clock).
- Why the inhuman guards made to guard the hourglass happen to mainly guard the big clock.

Which is more evil, the pit gods or the hourglass?

With the whole wish thing (among some less notable similarities with the hourglass like the whole sealed away thing), I got the vibe Aidairo was attempting to make the hourglass a parallel to the pit gods. I’ve never seen a time travel device have a wish granting aspect before.

Please share your reasoning in the comments because I love to see people's reasons for their choices on these polls.

The pit god is actually multiple gods

This means that the red house entity is actually multiple gods too.

Nene during the alteration arc feels selfish, and it has to do with how she looks in relation to Teru and Akane

Nene deciding whether a timeline should be kept or not based on if one guy is happy feels really selfish to me, and it’s because the other two focal characters of the alteration arc refuse to decide whether a timeline should stay or not based on the ones closest to them who they’ve known for way longer than Nene has known Hanako, which makes Nene look bad relative to them. Akane, the yandere, is willing to stick with a timeline where his crush, who he’s dedicated his entire life to, is engaged to his bully on the basis that the stability of the timeline matters most. Meanwhile, Nene decides what matters most about the timeline is the happiness of the sleazy guy she’s been friends with for a few months. Teru stays true to his disdain for timeline changes even when faced with a way more favorable outcome for his family including his Mom not dying, while Nene flips to wondering if the timeline should stick just because the sleazy guy she’s been friends with for a few months managed to live longer.
I can see where Nene’s coming from, and it makes sense she’s not super mature considering she’s only a tenth grader. It’s just that she feels relatively so immature.

Nene’s opinion of Akane soured a lot

Fun fact about Akane and Nene: In chapter 12, Akane is shown to be one of Nene’s friends alongside Aoi, Lemon, and Fuji.

Collecting data about the fandom

While sign-in is required for the sake of preventing the same person answering twice, email addresses are not collected.

I plan to close this up in a week or two, then try to make charts about the data.

I finally figured out why Kako and Mirai were sleeping in the clock after they made the change (spoilers for chapter 125)

For a while, I was confused on why Kako and Mirai tell Akane that they're going to sleep inside the big clock in the boundary until the new present establishes itself (chapter 111). But now I finally get why they had to sleep in for several decades instead of jumping to the present.

The timeline shouldn't be messed with unless it's for the one thing the Clock Keepers must protect above else (chapter 125). This means that they will not travel through time unless it's for the purpose of the thing that must be protected above all else. So...they won't travel back to 2014.
