Fact check: you can now switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio on the VR04 Analog Goggles!

One of the biggest complaints about the BetaFPV VR04 Analog Goggles was that you couldn't switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. It turns out that's no longer the case. Newer firmware versions now include a Scale option that lets you switch between them.

The catch is that BetaFPV still hasn't published an official firmware update method for existing VR04 Analog Goggles. So if your goggles don't have the option yet, there's currently no official way to update them. I've reached out to BetaFPV support to get this cleared up.

I tested the Lava II 680mAh battery on an Air75 II

I tested whether the BetaFPV Lava II 680mAh 1S battery fits in the Air75 II (Freestyle).

Short answer: yes, it fits, but only just. The battery is twice the weight of a typical 300mAh pack (16.2g vs 8g), the fit is extremely tight, and it sticks out slightly from the front. You get a little more flight time, but the quad feels noticeably less agile and punchy.

For cruising and maximizing flight time, it might be worth the tradeoff. For racing or anyone who prefers a lightweight whoop, probably not.

I included a more detailed write up here if you're interested: https://blog.musadigital.nl/posts/air75-lava-680-fit/

Flying a Tiny Whoop in Dust 2

Short clip of me FPV flying an Air75 in de_dust2. This is with 20-ish(?) hours on the sim, so still very sloppy.

Note: the map is not a part of the LiftOff simulator by default. It was loaded using a small mod I made to the game. The map is based on a model by pancakesbassoondonut with some adjustments to make it work in the simulator.
