in-person classes in NYC?
does anyone know of any latex crafting classes based out of NYC coming up soon? i’m interested in participating in something in-person to get a feel for the craft but it’s hard to find any info on this online.

hi!
so to start, i have a beautiful 7 year old fixed female named Cotton (she was pure white and fluffy when we got her but turned out to be a flame point as she aged). she is the light of my life and i’ve had her since she was only a few weeks old and orphaned from a terrible cat hoarding situation. when she was almost 2 years old, another rescue found his way into our lives named Soybean. Soybean came from similarly pretty bad circumstances and was about 9 months-ish i’d guess when we took him in, with a plethora of health and behavioral issues that, slowly but surely, we worked through until he was genuinely the most social, friendly, loving cat ever.
sadly, his poor breeding and health history caught up to him and, about a year ago, he passed away from spontaneous saddle thrombus— we didn’t autopsy, but he had had numerous genetic health issues over the years so it wasn’t a huge mystery. Soybean and Cotton weren’t fans of each other at first, like many cats, but eventually became pretty inseparable. now that Soybean has passed, for the last year Cotton has become a totally different cat. she vocalizes significantly more frequently, and often constantly through the night, when she used to meow so infrequently it was an event when she did! she is extremely demanding of physical attention, like we basically can’t do anything without her rubbing all over us, she physically grabs our hands and faces with her paws and pulls us in, tries to climb us, follows us from room to room, and watches us like a hawk from the windows when we leave. she has learned to, somehow, open our closed and LATCHED bedroom door, like literally busts the door in, at night when she wants attention. she has gained weight, she stands in front of the tv and smacks it if we try to watch anything that isn’t her, she drags socks and clothes around the house meowing forlornly, and she knocks things off of surfaces when we stop paying attention to her. even though she was once hardly food motivated at all, now she’s constantly begging for more food. despite all my best efforts to positively reinforce good behavior and discourage destructive habits, she’s really become very needy and demanding, like a totally different cat. i love her and not all of this is bad, necessarily, but now that Soy has been gone a whole year and she still hasn’t stopped some of these behaviors i’m wondering if maybe bringing home a new potential companion could be good for her? or was her bonding with Soybean a random one off thing?
ETA: Hey guys the attached picture is not the heatwave temperatures. I included the upcoming weather so that people can get an idea of what’s coming so they can advise on whether or not I still need to bring the plant back indoors even though temps have dropped significantly. Please read the full post!
Hi! I have had a very cute pothos for a year or two that has huge thick woody stems and large leaves and was overall thriving— however— it lives in a south facing window (under an eave) where it typically does wonderfully. A little over a week ago, while the weather was still cool here, I moved it from inside the window to outside, only about a foot difference but slightly more exposed to the elements. Of course, then something came up and I was not home for a week unexpectedly, and whoever was house sitting had no idea about my plants. There was a 2 or 3 day heatwave (temperatures in the 90s) while I was away, and now the leaves have some sunburn and the plant looks droopy. It was dry so I watered it upon coming back, and above is the weather forecast for the next ten days. Should I bring the pothos back inside the window or should I let it stay outside? The heatwave is over as far as I know and if there is another I should be able to bring it inside ahead of time. I know the sunburned leaves are not saveable, but 90% of the leaves are still green and fine. I would *like* to let it stay outside since the heatwave has passed anyway, but is that a bad idea?
