I’m not sure if I’m ready for all this, can I leave it in the tank so anything goes? (galaxy pearl)

I only had three rice fish that someone was giving away and thought they were all females. Turns out, only one was female. Tank mates ate kuhli loaches and Pygmy Corydoras.

first grown pygmy Cory baby that looks like a fish!

… instead of a weird clear tadpole. I was kind of sad when I put them in this tank to share with the shrimps, cause I knew I would rarely see them (tons of good hiding spots for little ones) and not know how’re they’re doing as often but knew it was for the best. This sacrifice paid off and I feel so relieved to see this!

I have babies in various ages in there, I saw three different ones at the same time in the tunnel.

Ignore my shoddy camerawork.

the coziest nap spot in my tank is apparently on a magnetic glass scraper 🧐

That’s a first over here 😂 The lights were off, but I turned them on to record this delightful scene. Even so, it still slept for a bit and when it woke, it tried to get right back up on the scraper.

Help with gendering and IDing?

Just curious! Seller said they’re galaxy pearl, but two are them are very yellow. Still cute 🥰

I didn’t have any luck with a new baby Cory-only tank so I threw them in the shrimp tank.

It seems to be successful! Not totally sure since I gave them too many good hiding spots though and I rarely see more than 1-2 at a time, but that’s a good sign that it’s usually one of the bigger ones?

EGGS!!

Do I need an air stone in this fine mesh breeder? It’s 10” away from the sponge filter in a 20 gallon.

We found eggs yesterday and more today! I suspect their Pygmy Corydoras 💕

Normal for shrimp to be changing colors?

I have a skittles tank and my dark green shrimp turned deep blue? No mistake on my part because I've had these for many months. I have a blue shrimp tank with all the other colors so I wouldn't have left her in there. Was dark green in many photos and videos. Now it's unmistakably blue. Is this possible or temporary?

One time I had a green jelly (so i thought) turn completely yellow in a matter of days, but I see that on the neocaridina chart, it can happen and the green was temporary.

I’m never doing a DIY shrimp trap again

I wanted to move my skittles tank which is full of babies and some adults over to a bigger better tank I am preparing for them. I did the DIY shrimp trap of a funnel fitted into a bottle with sinking food. I laid it on the side. It seemed to be working amazingly within 30 minutes. I left it for two hours and it looked to be 2/3 of the population. I had to put my real kid down so I circled backed to take the bottle out an hour later. Not much more caught since I last checked, but I found that they were all dead inside of the bottle. I am devastated.

I’ve heard people leaving this type of trap overnight or was than 24hrs, so I never would’ve thought 3 hours would do this to every shrimp trapped in there. I think the trap worked too well, it was crowded, and that probably created excessive ammonia on top of the lack of circulation. I’m so mad at myself! I feel so bad! I’m the worst shrimp parent right now!

light replacement for opaque lidded aquarium.

I was given a small aquarium and it’s kind of dated but I want to make it work. The plug in light on the lid however does not work at all. Is there a way to have a small low profile full spectrum light I can glue to the top of the lid? Looking for recommendations on light and the type of glue as well.
