I came I saw, and I caught a fish! TY NY!

I also sliced my hand open slammed my back into the rocks and had an impromptu swimming party

Also broke my rod (you can see it in the pic) lost my glasses and now my back hurts like hell.

But goddamnt I caught a fish (funny enough I didn’t know I caught him until after I handlined my lure in after falling so I wasn’t leaving trash behind

Are your regs really this easy?

Seriously I open up the regs for lakes in NY (traveling and finally able to break away for a bit) and it’s…easy? Like just size and season, and being mid August….I’m pretty much good to go for whatever with very relaxed standards.

Just a bit of culture shock coming from WA and having to deal with the insanity that is our salmon seasons and crabbing nonsense, and our rivers closed most of the year…because salmon ect.

Like damn this is just a little treat to not have to stress that much

Carry on hook sizes?

Was planning on taking these lures with me for my trip to NY tomorrow on my carry on, does anyone know if any of these are going to be an issue?

The TSA website is very vague

Fishing advice for Syracuse NY?

Howdy folks, my work has me going to a conference in Syracuse next week and I was thinking about bringing my new pack rod with me and hitting a few lakes in the area

Any advice would be appreciated, never fished this part of the country before.

Funky little rod gifted by a coworker

Just got this neat looking thing given to me by a coworker, the company is still around (Emmrod) but I can’t seem to match this model with any of their current offerings

That said it’s unique as hell, figured yall would like to see. I’ll probably end up using it to jig off the side of my kayak or something

Recommendations for ancillary equipment?

Howdy yall, I’m going to go look at (and purchase if it’s as advertised)a kayak this Friday, a Kaku Zulu (pretty heavy rig)

Problem is I don’t have any kayak gear so I’m looking for recommendations for the following

-Paddles (don’t know where to start here)

-Kayak cart/. (Base kayak weighs 115lb)

-PFD recommendations. I run a mustang inflatable for my normal boating, but I feel a kayak specific one would be beneficial.

-What footwear do yall use? My single craft experience is with an inflatable pontoon and waders with felt boots is probably overkill, and muck boots are going to be hot exposed to the sun this summer

Anything else I might be forgetting/overlooking or recommendations that would make my life easier?

Thank yall in advance!

Information request on Kaku Zulu kayak

Howdy y’all, about to take the plunge to a kayak for my lake/pond needs and was hoping for something stable with a high weight capacity.

Local to me a Kaku Zulu is up for sale, but I know next to nothing about kayaks and it looks like an odd duck.

Not at all new to boating just blind to the kayak world.

Also how do yall get these 85lb+ monsters on and off taller cars?!?! You’re not clean and pressing them right?

Anyways TYIA for your insight

Headlight bezels on a rubber bumper MGB

How the hell do you remove them?!?! I’ve tried to unscrew them like the earlier ones, tried to gently pry from the outside but I feel like I’ll chip the paint if I go to hard and I’m almost convinced they’re permanent at this point

Any help appreciated, pic for attention
