How do you model WINDOW PANES using V-Ray?

How do you model WINDOW PANES using V-Ray?

Question is: how do you model window pane using V-Ray materials?

Do you use
A) a simple rectangle, as if the glass panel had no depth
or
B) two rectangles (or a rectangular cuboid), to give depth like a real piece of glass has
?

I usually try to stick as close to reality as possible.

So, I’ve always modeled glass objects like real-world objects: with actual depth (rather than as virtual objects made of a single face).

But lately —especially after watching some tutorials— I’ve started to have doubts.

Am I making a mistake?

Thank you.

Thoughts on the licenses sold by simplits.com?

I am a freelance architectural visualization designer.

My client list is shrinking due to the impact of AI, so I’m looking into new software to try and land new contracts.

However, times are tough, and I cannot afford to spend more money on software licenses.

A few months ago, I came across the site simplits.com, which offers licenses at very attractive prices.

But I suspect the site might be a scam and that they are reselling cracked software.

On one hand, the offers seem too good to be true.

On the other hand, there are indeed legitimate sites offering significant discounts on popular software (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.), so why not for niche professional software?

So, I have a few questions:

  • Have you ever used this site?
  • Do you know of any honest and affordable alternatives?

There probably isn't a magic solution, but I thought I'd ask just in case.
