Season 2 ends in 31 days?
Since y'all quietly changed the Season 2 expiration date (previously ended in 4 days), does that mean we're actually getting a third season?

And the game is fun! But it's still pretty rough imo.
First, and probably one of the biggest issues I have, is that the Mechs don't seemingly add anything meaningful to the gameplay loop or sandbox; and in some cases actively tend to break the pacing of matches (for me at least). Don't get me wrong, it's fun to pilot them, and it's fun to destroy them, but I never thought "wow, this wouldn't be possible without the mechs" or, "the mechs really add a nice spin to that," they are seemingly just there, for reasons??
Second, and this also relates to mechs but is still separate; the decision to not include secondary weapons in favor of the sledgehammer just feels so artificially limiting and makes aeriel dogfights difficult to continually maintain, as eventually the players run out in their clips and have to swap to sledge and break their chain of movement to get in close, or risk reloading mid battle. It also makes the gunplay feel more repetitive and monotonous, which is a shame because the gunplay itself is very responsive, smooth, and provides great feedback.
Third, the sense of speed doesn't feel very fast; in most cases it feels slower than SG2, which shouldn't be the case considering the game is centered around it's movement systems. I also don't like how momentum seems to cap out, or how momentum melee kills don't seem to work anymore.
Foruth, the game is visually dull and bland; a lot of the colors blend together and the overall visual direction just doesn't feel clear, distinct, or particularly readable; at least no when compared to other contemporary shooters.
Fifth, level gating weapons in this game doesn't feel good; I had to grind out nearly a dozen matches to unlock the weapons I enjoyed using from the playtests, and those matches just felt like a slog to get through because of it. It's not because those weapons are bad, but because of how I play and for the fact that this is an extremely fast paced game, thats centered around mechanical skill.
Sixth, guns feel a little too "laser-y;" almost like they're hit-scan, which I can understand why you would choose that direction, but with this short ttk and the movement systems, it becomes very difficult, sometines impossible, to out-manuever your opponent(s).
Seventh, audio design is pretty mixed; I like all of the sound effects, but things like the sound for Speed PAINT activating doesn't always play, some audio elements delay in playback, and the music is just extremely mid, especially when compared to the music SG2/AR
Eighth, the 3rd perk slot should not be exclusively for mechs; should honestly just do away with mech perks or have them entirely separate from individual loadouts.
To cap it off, I think this is a great foundation, but the pieces don't seem to be clicking together for me right now. I hope that you guys can take this time before release to really rethink and reevaluate yhe future development of this game.
Already posted this on the Empulse sub, but wanted to post here too, since Splitgate's fate is inextricably tied to Empulse lol
I like the game, let me get that out of the way. The mechanics are solid and movement is downright addicting, but there are some things I feel need addressing.
First off, let me say that I'm sorry I hated on the game so hard at first; it is much more in line with the types of shooters that I like (arena shooters) and it plays much better than i thought it would. With that said, while movement and gunplay are so far awesome, the mechs feel completely pointless and don't seemingly add anything of note to the gameplay formula. I took out multiple mechs myself, and played as a mech 3 times, and while those moments were fun; they didn't seem to add anything compelling or unique to the flow of combat or the gameplay generally.
I'll admit, I'm not the target audience for mechs in a competitive shooter but I genuinely struggled to see what they added to the game. For example, in Titanfall the movement systems exist because the gameplay is centered around the titans and the large map space required to accommodate them; in this, it feels like mechs only exist to empower those who can't keep up with the pace of movement (but also fails in that because of how infrequent mechs are, and because sledgehammer is fucking OP).
Anyway,Tl;Dr: game has a lot of potential, movement and gunplay are rock solid, and while a few things could be more polished or smoother over, it is still phenomenal and probably some of the nicest movement I've ever felt in an FPS. On the other hand, mechs feel pointless, maps are forgettable, and I feel that weapons need to be projectile based over hitscan; considering the ttk and movement.
Anyway, looking forward to see how the game progresses and to see how the studio handles both Empulse and Splitgate moving forward!

This game personally means a lot to me; I was in a very dark place back in 2017-2018, and I had just moved and restarted my life again, and I came across an Xbox One for cheap so I went and picked up a bunch of games from the local Game X Change, Halo 5 being one of like 8 of them, and it was the only game that was able to pull me in and get me out of myself (even despite swearing off the franchise after Halo 4 😂). I hadn't been gaming, or really even wanted to game, for about 4 years previous to that, and it was Halo 5 that changed that, and it was that fact and the friends I made on it , that pulled me out of my depressive state and got me to begin feeling excited about life again. I know that might sound hyperbolic, but when everything around you is seemingly breaking down constantly, having some sort of stability and comfort even if it's just in a game, really means a lot. I love this game; crappy campaign, weird art style, and all!
Despite its many flaws, this game deserves to be preserved and I know that if it were released on Steam, and other PC storefronts, it would attract a small but active and dedicated community. I would love to see it come over and witness an entirely new generation and audience of gamers experience the awesomeness of Halo 5's multiplayer!
Please Halo Studios; port Halo 5: Guardians over to PC! Hell, I'll even settle for just releasing Halo 5: Forge on Steam lol; it would certainly be better than not having it at all!
Anyway I love this game, and Halo as a whole, and it would be a tragedy if this were just permanently lost to the Xbox One and Windows Store archives!
I saw 25 ppl playing on Steam and decided to jump in and see if I could catch a couple of matches; to my surprise, when I loaded up the custom games browser there were nearly 40 people in lobbies! I settled on a game of Evolution on Atlantis, it had 7/8 players and I thought "why not?" The match was extremely laggy but I persevered and took in all of the vibes and atmosphere of the original game. After a couple matches, I found a Zombie VIP lobby with 5/8 players and hopped into that; the latency was better this time and I got to enjoy some good ole fun for a few mins before the lobby filled up and the host switched modes to TDM on Abyss. I was extremely excited when the TDM match started, it was still a little laggy (took about a second after firing for portals to open), but I just really wanted to play in a regular lobby for a bit so I pushed on. About 3 mins into the match, I have a 9 kill streak and I'm suddenly removed from the game, I thought I might have disconnected so I try to rejoin; immediately thrown back to the menu. At this point I thought "either some weird network stuff happened, or they kicked me," so I decided to try again, to the same result; the lobby was still open, even 20 mins later. So I then decided to host my own game, FFA on Highwind, about 10 mins goes by and 3 ppl join my lobby, I think "hell yeah, let's get a fresh match going!" I then load up FFA on Abyss, and things are going great, we complete the match; I came 2nd (1st was a bot); then the others just abruptly left.
I don't understand why the first lobby kicked me, and I don't understand why the ppl who joined my game just suddenly left. I really REALLY love SG1, nothing else matches it, and I just wanted to have fun playing some traditional matches with real ppl, but nobody wants to play with me apparently. 🤷♂️ It's not for a lack of players either, because there were still multiple full lobbies when I finally gave up on playing (this is highly condensed; I played for a little over 2 hours total, trying different matches, these are just my most successful attempts), and I don't type or speak in the chat, so it can't be that either; I just don't get it.
Anyway, done rambling lol. I love SG1; the physics, the gunplay, the aesthetics, all of it just feels so cozy and good to play; I wish it had received more love and attention, because it truly was something special!
