Seeking recommendations for a construction litigation attorney or law firm.

Good morning all,

I live on the far east side in the area around where Zaragoza and Montana meet up, just down John Hayes from Pebble Hills High School.

I bought my home in 2015. It was a new build by D.R. Horton. From what I've heard, they built a few of the neighborhoods in the area, including my own, and then dipped out of town.

Since then, starting 2-3 years ago, I've begun getting water leaks in the home. Currently dealing with my 3rd AND 4th leaks, a mere 5 weeks apart. Each one has been repaired by Roto Rooter since they always seem to only happen on holidays or weekends, and each one of them has been communicated to me as being caused by lazy work / construction, where pipes should've had 90° fittings put in for necessary turns and whatnot, but instead were simply bent to save time and money. Over time, the pressurization of the pipes wears on these weakened areas and eventually they leak.

Last year, or perhaps the year before, my wife asked in one of the neighborhood groups if anyone else had a DRH home and if they'd been experiencing similar issues, and a fair number of people chimed in to confirm both.

One individual also said that apparently DRH recently lost a class action suit somewhere else in Texas for the same or similar things (construction issues). Might've been Dallas or Austin. But apparently due to El Paso being a different location, that lawsuit doesn't entitle anyone else for automatic payouts, although the case judgement can apparently be used as supporting evidence.

Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations on attorneys / law firms to talk to about options, if going after them is worth it, stuff like that.

I'm currently collecting all my documentation from the repairs from each instance, the water mitigation records, all the stuff from our insurance claims, the photos, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help y'all can provide.

finally...

I finally managed to get my grubby hands on this damn card lmfao

It's so hilariously odd, I freaking love it. Probably because most other hockey cards are action shots or shots of the players posing, or walking into their respective rinks, etc. And then you've got this absolute masterpiece of...i don't even know what to call it. Chaos? 😅

It now resides in my special binder of otherwise exclusively SJS cards as the only one representing a different team lol

Mike Grier, if you somehow see this, I'm sorry but I will absolutely be taking this to games on the off-chance that we stumble into each other so that I can ask for an autograph.

Houston, TX consulate location

Salve a tutti, buongiorno. Ho due appuntamenti per il mio passaporto e la carta d'identità in agosto.

The Houston, TX consular website and FastIT list two different addresses. Which is it?

La ringrazio a tutti per l'aiuto. Buona giornata!

consular appointments for both passport and carta d'identita

Hello, I have appointments for both passport and carta d'identita scheduled for August at the Houston consulate, since I'd seen somewhat recently that people said that you could successfully do both on the same day, as long as the passport appt was first of the two.

I'd've preferred to space the two appointments out slightly more, but the CIE appointment slot for 1000 wasn't available.

But I wanted to ask here to be sure that I wasn't mis-remembering what I'd seen or something. lol thanks in advance.

Oh, also, where can I find the info on the cost that I will need to pay, and the accepted methods of payment?

Macklin Celewienie slab

As soon as I saw the NHL's digital "cards" for the pups in the 2026 Stanley Pup, I knew I had to have a Macklin Celewienie physical card for my collection. Sent it in to a seller on Etsy to have it printed as a card and slabbed / "graded" lol. Love it.

sharing my custom 1:60 diecast model 4T4R

About a month ago or so, I'd posted to this subreddit to ask if anyone knew of a 1:64 scale diecast model of the 4T4R, since I like to collect them and get them customized to match the vehicles my wife and I own or have owned in the past.

Someone commented about one that is quite difficult to come by, but I managed to get my hands on one (and a couple extras that I scooped up and sent off to a couple people here in the subreddit), and then sent it off to an Etsy seller that I'd ordered custom pieces from before to have it customized to look like the real thing (2008 4.7L)

It looks absolutely incredible. I'm in love with it. 😍😁😏

AIRE registration

Hello all, a couple weeks ago I received confirmation that I'd been entered into my comune's records, and I was provided a certified digital copy of my birth extract, along with notification from my attorney that I can proceed with AIRE registration and subsequently the passport appointment.

I asked about my marriage extract since it wasn't included. Attorney said it's possible that the comune had first done the birth extract to avoid possible duplicate name/spelling mistakes and receive confirmation that everything was correctly entered on their part before they proceed with the marriage extract and that he'll follow up with them about that.

  1. I've gone ahead on FastIT and got everything else ready to submit for AIRE, but I'm trying to find out if I am able to just proceed with submitting without the marriage extract from the comune, or if I must/should wait until I have that as well.

I have a child due in late September and fully intend to declare him so that he may also get his citizenship BdL. If I *can* submit my current AIRE registration without the marriage extract (spouse is not an Italian citizen), will it make getting him recognized more tedious/difficult later down the line?

  1. When filling out the AIRE application on FastIT, if I understood the guide that I was following from this subreddit, despite having been born abroad (California), we put that we are from our comune, and the date of entry into our consulate jurisdiction is the date of recognition on the court judgement? I got the impression that it helps to view it as if we "lived" in our ancestral comune and "moved" to where we currently reside, which is why I didn't check yes for having been born abroad, but that seemed odd so I'm second-guessing here.

Any help or wisdom on this would be great appreciated.

  1. Anyone have any feedback on roughly how long AIRE registration via the HTX consulate has been taking?

Thank you all for any help/insight.
