How to Start as Someone with Limited Experience

I took the plunge and bought a used Yamaha RBX170, but now I need a bass amp. I also bought an old-school timer to keep myself honest and make sure I spend at least 20 minutes a day practicing. The question is, what do I do? I read the FAQ (very helpful), and it mentions practicing, but how do I start? I'm picking this up so I can jam with my kids, who have received professional music instruction for the last few years. I took guitar lessons years ago, but I wouldn't say I'm any good at all, so I'm very much a beginner compared to others on this sub who have had years of music experience with other instruments.

I self-learn all the time in other subjects and am willing to try here, but should I just find YouTube tutorials like BassBuzz, or find tabs for songs I want to play and dive in? Would love all your takes.

Recommendations on How to Get Kids to Play Together

I have two kids who have been learning music for the last 2.5 years; one plays guitar and the other plays piano. I would love it if they would take the initiative to try to play songs together, but I'm not sure how to suggest it. Do I have them both learn a song and play it together, or have them learn specific pieces of a song relative to their instruments (e.g., a guitar solo)? Can anyone recommend an app, a video series, or even a couple of songs I can use?

How Often Should 11u Kids Practice Pitching?

My son is on a travel baseball team, normally an infielder but he won't be able to supplant the current 3B. He currently platoons in the outfield with a few other kids. Coach noticed that he can consistently find the strike zone when he pitches and wants to use him more. How often should I have my son practice pitching outside of team practice and possible gameday?

Traveling to Tunisia in June/Early July -- Any Tips

My family and I are thinking about traveling to Tunisia in June/July. Can anyone give us some advice regarding the weather during this time? Also, can anyone recommend things to do in the evening if its too hot to go there in the morning?

Thanks

I'm flying right before Game 6 starts and would like to know my travel options. Does anyone have experience with watching a live game while on a JetBlue flight? I have the DirecTV app and am willing to buy internet for the flight so I can catch the game if that doesn't work.

Family is set to go to Epic Universe this Friday and we have express passes. We are staying onsite and will go in early ti try and ride as many rides a possible. We do similar things with Disney and try and save our one time “line skip” for later in the day and just go the free route. Can anyone confirm if this is the best approach?

Hi

I’m the dad of an 11 y/o girl who will start middle school in the fall. My daughter was doing cheer for the last 2 years in elementary school and loved it so I’m sure she’d like to do it again. Shes been doing dance for the last 3 years and is a naturally happy person but she is a bit on the softer side personality wise compared to her classmates. The joy she gets from putting on a uniform and cheering means the world to me and I want to give her the best possible chance of going for a tryout and making a middle school team. Would anyone here recommend a strategy of what I can do to get her ready so she can come to a try out as prepared as possible ?
