Ah dip... lost yarn chicken

Ah dip... lost yarn chicken

Pincha shawl in rhinestone cowgirl hand dyed by dye mad yarns (found the yarn at an unclaimed mail store)

Wanted to get 12 feathers, but alas Maybe if I'd used the smaller gauge needles the pattern called for, but I didn't want to buy more needles if I could use ones I already had.

Need ID and advice

So I walked out onto my patio this morning to be greeted by this poor lil guy, I assumed a cat had gotten him, and I dug a hole to bury him, but then I turned him over and found these nasty yellow things on his other side, can I bury him still or is this some sort of parasite that could spread once buried?

Partridge peas are native around me, but I'm wondering if these aren't the invasive lookalike trees.

Eventually going to pull up the main bushes and plant something native, until then I'm stuck clearing out what I can pull out with my hands.

Shame it's so invasive, it really is gorgeous.
