I think my name is Tara!

I’ve been transitioning for over 1.5 years and am still going by the name/nickname I was given at birth. I don’t hate it but it’s just starting to feel a little weird on me. It’s rather androgynous which was great for pre-transition me! I come across as very motherly now, so that name doesn’t really match my vibe anymore.

I love the name Tara (pronounced as taer-uh or tar-ruh) and I started by using that name while hoeing around online lol. It felt like a very inconsequential place to try out names but Tara was the first one I tried and it immediately felt correct. I feel like it fits the dichotomy of my promiscuous yet prudish, hippy yet valley girl vibe.

I told my first gen Asian American mother about wanting to go by Tara and she had almost zero response. Which is the equivalent of jumping up and down with joy in my household!

So yeah… I think it’s time to be Tara!

I am so grateful

I am grateful that I am loud, tall, and broad chested! People tend to listen to me, make way for me, and it has stopped many ppl from starting fights.

I am beyond grateful I feel pretty without makeup! And I am still pretty clocky, heavy emphasis on the pretty part.

I am grateful for the time I took away from male validation! I don’t know if I would’ve found and stepped into womanhood if I was still participating in gay hookup culture!!!!

Male attention/validation has slowly been ramping up for me and I am so grateful it hasn’t held much weight in my mind (for now). I am starting to get the itch for companionship; It has been over three years since i’ve hugged someone for more than 10 seconds.

But yeah i am really in love with the way my life is going rn :)
