bing or pitt

Hi everyone!

I’ve already committed to Bing but I am now having second thoughts and thinking about decomitting. I’m from upstate NY but also grew up in the city, and have definitely been missing an urban atmosphere. I did not get to tour either campus :(

The difference in cost is roughly $8k/year, but is manageable as I also have some outside scholarships.

I’m also admitted as a chemistry major and am looking to do research. I am not sure if I’m headed down the pre-med route or any other route. How easy is research to come by here?

Thanks!

I’m admitted as a chemistry major and I’m looking to do research. I did not get invited to FRI (unless they’re still sending invites out; if anyone knows if there’s a way to still be invited, please lmk!!) and I’m not sure how easy it is to come across research (but I have heard it’s competitive). I am not sure if I am headed the pre-med route or any other route.

The difference in cost is roughly $8k/year, which is manageable because I also have outside scholarships as well.

Also, I’m wondering if there are any nice stores or places near campus that are within walking distance (e.g. restaurants, stationery stores, shopping).

Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I’m a current high school senior who is still undecided. My financial aid package for my top/dream school did not come until the day before yesterday (I was mixed-up with another student) and unfortunately it is too expensive for me to attend. As of right now, these schools are my top options.

For reference, I’m looking to do undergraduate research in a science field (admitted as a chem major), and am looking to pursue a graduate degree or higher academia. I understand that SBU is great for science, but I’m also looking for a school that is more social. I am not too sure about the other colleges. Is the difference between them for STEM that noticeable?
