Tonight we're planning to head to Fernandina area to listen to Jared Bell at Dick's Wings and then The Usual Suspects at Boat House.
Saturday likely headed to Wicked Barley as they have a nice lineup for the day.
Today we traveled to Fernandina Beach to catch a few local artists, but enjoyed After Hours Band so much that we stayed for their entire set and didn’t want it to end.
Aside from great vocals and musical abilities, their personalities captivated the show. During their 1 break, they chatted with patrons, asked for song suggestions, and thanked each table for coming (and it was pretty busy), and made us laugh.
Highly suggest getting out to see a show.
Our first time to Mocama Coffee/Mocama Beer (1 big place with beer on 1 side and coffee on the other), and really wish it wasn’t an hour away from us. We could spend all day there, and plan to on occasion.
As we left, they had ample TVs and big screens playing the Jags game.
My husband and I love live music, karaoke, open mic nights, anything with music (and dancing for me), but whenever we'd try to find where music happenings were around Jax, it sucked away so much time we'd just give up or stick to the same 2 places we already knew.
We knew a lot more was happening out there, but searching Google, Facebook, Instagram, Eventbrite, Reddit, AllEvents, and pieced-together venue sites was something I rarely had the energy for. We thought surely there's a site that has it all in one place. We searched, we asked AI... and came up empty.
We have a successful marketing and website design business, so we ultimately decided to just build our own. I might be biased, but I love what we've built so far. We just launched this week, and hundreds of people have already found the website and app organically, which just confirmed what we suspected all along: this was a missing piece in Jax.
