2010 GTI with rear left speed sensor fault after rear pad replacement
Did my rear pads today and got treated with the ABS Christmas tree lights and airbag light. Have a 00290 code now in the brake electronics module. Didn’t touch the sensor as it’s on the opposite side of the caliper. Went to break in the pads after pumping the pedal till it was stiff. Hit about 25-30 mph and hit the brake pedal aggressively to wear the pads in. Lights came on, checked the code and it was for the rear left speed sensor. I get a reading from the sensor but it’s jumpy and will show match the speeds of the other sensors and then drop about 10-20 mph in difference between the other wheels as I drive now. I’m going to assume some ride broke and fell somewhere near the sensor as it was working fine before doing the brake job. What should I check before potentially replacing anything? Car has 225k on it. It’s a 2010 GTI.
