Long Term Success Stories

Hi ladies! I’d love to hear some success stories in the comments. Preferably long-term success (marriage, assets, starting a business, etc.) rather than just going on dates or getting a nice bag.

I moved to Europe four years ago. I’m from a developing country but I’ve always been kinda bougie and only ever dated upper middle class men back home, but I was young and foolish and allowed these men to play me lol.

Moving to Europe alone at 29, I knew I needed a strategy and that’s when I found Shera. I went on really nice dates for the first 1.5 years before meeting my man. He has completely changed my life and as an immigrant who moved here by myself, I couldn’t have made this much progress in this country without him.

He has been fully financially supporting me for the last two years. Moved me into a nicer apartment and pays all bills. Furniture, new MacBook, latest iPhone, designer bags, trips across Europe, trips back home (5000 miles away) anything I ask for.

Then my work permit application was denied so I couldn’t work. Honestly if I didn’t have him I’d be fucked lol. I really wanted to work but it’s like the universe forced me to slow down and learn how to receive 😂

We are now discussing marriage, and I can finally stop worrying about visas and immigration stuff. He will move me into his beautiful home with a pool in the backyard. We are discussing putting my name on the title, changing his will, life insurance, the whole works. I’ll eventually have a stronger passport.

After we’re married and I feel more settled, I’ll have full access to the labour market and won’t need a work permit. I still want to work, network and establish a professional life here. I also have so many ideas for online businesses, content creation etc. I’ve had small businesses before and I really enjoy entrepreneurship.

Most importantly this man absolutely adores me. He has been consistent and reliable since day 1 and would do anything to make me happy. He is so gentle with me, he thinks I’m the most precious thing.
He respects and admires that I had the courage to move here alone and considers it his duty to take care of me. He’s never told me no, he always finds a way to make it happen and he keeps his promises. He has taken full responsibility for me in this country and has been my rock through some difficult times, including a death in my family. I couldn’t imagine life without him and I’m so grateful to Shera for her guidance.

Joan wanted a wedding. She didn’t want to be a wife.

I’ve watched Girlfriends throughout my life, as a child, a teen, in my twenties and now rewatching at 33. This is my first time getting past season 6 when Toni left.

Just completed season 7 and the start of season 8 when Joan embarrassed Aaron in front of her friends, then came home and was a massive bitch while “apologizing” to him. Even buying the stove/range behind his back shows she’s not ready for a partnership. They’re literally renovating a whole house. What’s wrong with buying a simple stove, selling it and upgrading in a couple years?

If she wanted to marry a wealthier man to match her bougie lifestyle, Brock literally presented the option to her. You don’t agree to marry a man, knowing his financial situation, unless you’re willing to adjust to his lifestyle. This is exactly why I don’t date men who earn less than me lol

Humiliating him in public, not yielding when he’s right, no communication or conflict resolution skills. I’m not a “traditional” woman by any definition, but there are certain things I think a wife should do to make a marriage work, just as a husband. Joan doesn’t want to be a wife. She just wanted to compete with Toni in a race to the altar, chasing some childish notion of marriage while possessing none of the skills necessary to make it work long term.

My two cents.

William on Valentine’s Day

I hated the entire Joan/William storyline but when he shows up to her house at midnight because he wants to have sex after their 3 month rule. Then he leaves and comes back with flowers (from her garden btw) at 2am, so now she should sleep with him in exchange for the flowers.
It’s so cringe and desperate and Joan should have told him to stop acting like a rabid dog.

Girlfriends aged well for the most part but this scene would never fly today lol
