Switching from gas to charcoal

hi everyone I have a Weber Genesis II with 2 burners for about 6 years and it has served me well but I'd like to go charcoal. I am thinking a kettle 57 cm (26 in). I feel at ease working with charcoal since we have a portable charcoal (like smokey joe).

we are a family of 4 and we regularly have guests on the weekend. the Genesis II works but at times feels tight when cooking for 7 or 8 people. would the 57cm kettle be big enough for grilling for 7-8 people (the website say it is fine for 6-8 people but curious about your experience)?

Has anyone made the switch form gas to charcoal. Any downsides?

What I like about the gas burner is it is really quick to fire up and grill something after a long day at the office... what I don't like is that it is a glorified oven :) just kidding I like the temperature control on gas, that's really easy and useful

I've tried convincing my wife we need both but alas have been unsuccessful.

Does anyone also feel recruitment processes are even slower than previously? I don't mean there are less roles (which there are) but once you get called for an interview things seem to take forever. A specific example. I started an interview process on 24-Jan, 3 months later I am still waiting. And it is not like I was ghosted, the talent acquisition person emails me every week saying they are still "aligning internally". She also replies within the hour when I ask her for an update. I get they may have other candidates and I am not number 1 so they are keeping me "warm" but the other candidates are also waiting I assume.

For those that are currently in recruitment processes is it also going very slow for you?

Feels like Squid Games or Highlander... wait until everyone drops out and be the last person standing 😄 there can be only one
