I have a toddler and plan to put him in public school once he enters school age. We are looking at houses in both Belmont and Burlingame. I’m curious for folks who were looking into both options when buying or renting, how you ended up liking the school districts, including the elementary schools? My sense is Burlingame High and Carlmont High are fairly comparable (although would love others’ thoughts), but it’s a little hard to tell for the elementary and middle schools. Thanks!
I live in the Peninsula and am interested in adding more usable living space to our house so have been thinking of doing a garage conversion. I want the space to be connected to our main house so it seems like a full ADU is out of the question. What are the pros and cons of converting it into livable space vs going for a JADU distinction? It seems like a JADU would require a kitchenette install and an external door (which we already have to the backyard), which seems doable. Wondering if others have thought through this, with regarding to permitting, cost, re-sale value etc.
