How often should I change my strings if I play 3-4 hours a day?

Hello everyone!

Not hoping for a consensus, just kindly request some opinions. Will revert to 1:30-2h/day as soon as I start working and subsequently my next uni year starts.

I play Daddario NYXL 9-46 on my Strat and 11-52 on my Les Paul; these bad boys cost me 19,90 € where I live.

Are there any cheaper alternatives perhaps? Thank you in advance :)

Is my Strat going to need a refret?

Hello everyone!

I got around to playing my 1996 American Standard a bit more over these last few days and couldn't help but notice the wear on the frets. It sounds as good as ever, but I'm wondering how much time those frets have left is all. Thanks in advance :)
